Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/25/26: Bischoff, Collision & “You ain’t ready for the misery!”

Good Evening, Wrestling Fans!

Welcome once again to the sports desk, where we’re taking a look at everything happening in All Elite Wrestling this weekend.

HEADLINES

Ed: Before we get to the action, let’s start with some of the biggest stories making news around professional wrestling.

Gordon: Eric Bischoff recently discussed the value of episodic storytelling in wrestling, emphasizing the importance of creating weekly television that keeps audiences returning instead of focusing only on major events.

Ed: Fans of Ring of Honor could say there is hope as Jonathan Gresham confirmed he would return to ROH competition, but stating “I’m never going to say never, but I’ve reached out several times to apologize in person when they’ve come here to Atlanta…I’m just going to say ‘no’ was the answer that I got. And that’s fair,” the former ROH Pure and World Champion said on “Grapsody Podcast.” “The way that I went off, I probably wouldn’t want to talk to me either. But again, I think we should also look at why did he go off? I just didn’t arrive at the show and go, ‘You know what, motherf***er?’ That’s not what happened. There was a reason why, a buildup, frustration. And to be honest, to this day, I, again, I do not agree with how I went about it, but I think that I had good reason to be upset.”

Gordon: And Charlotte Flair provided an update on her father, Ric Flair, telling fans that he’s receiving medical care and expressing appreciation for the support that’s poured in from around the wrestling world. Ric had jokingly blamed the situation on The Ultimate Warrior dropping him on his head.

AEW: WHERE THINGS STAND

Ed: AEW is now moving from WrestleDream fallout into the build toward Blood & Guts and Full Gear.

Gordon: The biggest stories involve the emergence of a new alliance around Jay White, continued warfare involving the Death Riders, growing tension surrounding the Don Callis Family, and several major title pictures beginning to take shape.

AEW DYNAMITE

October 21, 2026

The post-WrestleDream edition of Dynamite featured several major developments.

Notable Results and Developments

  • AEW World Champion Will Ospreay teamed with Adam Copeland against members of the Don Callis Family.
  • Queen Aminata and returning Maya World battled for a future TBS Championship opportunity.
  • The Young Bucks faced Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in championship eliminator competition.

Major Storyline Notes

Gordon: Perhaps the biggest development was the alliance between the Bang Bang Gang and The Dogs, a move that immediately shifted the balance of power throughout the promotion.

Ed: The Don Callis Family also strengthened its position heading deeper into the fall season, while Blood & Guts challenges continued to emerge.

CLASSIC COLLISION MOMENT

September 16, 2023

Eddie Kingston’s Warning

Ed: Before we leave, let’s rewind the tape to one of the most memorable early Collision promos.

Gordon: Following months of conflict and emotional intensity, Eddie Kingston delivered a warning that resonated with fans throughout AEW:

“You ain’t ready for the misery.”

The line perfectly captured Kingston’s gritty, uncompromising character and remains one of the more memorable verbal shots from AEW Collision’s early era.

THE PROMO

Eddie Kingston: “What do you guys want me to say? Like, don’t we have a thing on YouTube explaining it? Me and Claudio go back all the way to 2000 and what? 6? 7? When he first moved to this country? And we became friends? And we lived together? And then he started judging me? Knowing what I had to go through mentally and physically and emotionally every day? Yeah, you can say whatever you want but I’m still here standing tall.

But Claudio decided not to do business, not to respect me. And don’t edit this out, you fucking idiots: He left potholes in that road that many of us had to clean up. That’s why I don’t like him, that’s why I still hold the grudge.

Don’t edit this out either: Renee [Young] told me to fix it, and it’s driving me nuts because I’ve been trying to fix it. I thought at Wembley I could fix it. I thought a singles match with me and Claudio could fix it. I thought maybe me not answering Jon’s calls could fix it.

But you know what, Claudio? This will fix it. This will be it. I don’t care win or lose, this is it. And you’re right, bro. You said one time to me ‘You know, Eddie, you don’t know how to have friends. You can’t keep them.’ You’re right. ‘Cause I push everyone away and then I blame them. That’s the sickness in me. That’s the curse I gotta live with. But you know what I do have? And I’ve always had? Home.

New York’s always been with me. Whether it’s the boroughs, whether it’s Yonkers, whether it’s Mount Vernon. Wherever I go in New York is mine. It’s my home. And you think I’m gonna let you come to Arthur Ashe… and beat me? And end me, and end this, with MY shoulders down to the mat? You’re out of your fucking mind.

All of New York has my back and I’ll see you there. Try to beat me there. Try to beat me in New York. We’re different there, brother. We’re built different. We’re built in the cold. We’re built in the misery.

Can you deal with that? Can you be built on misery? Nah, you can’t. I give you all the credit in the world: you’re a great wrestler. You’re amazing. You got the body, you got everything. But you ain’t ready for the misery. You ain’t ready for home.

I’m gonna fuck you up in New York, motherfucker. [Eddie walks out] There you go. Now tell them to bleep the [censored] out.”

HEADLINES

Ed: Fans, before we get to the results, we begin with several major stories making waves across the wrestling world.

Gordon: First, reports surfaced this week that wrestling legend Ric Flair was hospitalized following a fall. Public reports stated the situation involved concerns over a blood clot and required medical attention. The Nature Boy’s condition has been a major talking point throughout the week.

Ed: Meanwhile in Japan, El Desperado has been forced out of NJPW’s Super Junior Tag League after suffering an injury. That changes the landscape of one of New Japan’s annual marquee tournaments and creates uncertainty for the popular junior heavyweight.

Gordon: And in TNA, young star Ricky Sosa became the focus of concern after TNA announced on the October 22 edition of iMPACT! that he is sidelined with what the company described as a severe back injury stemming from a recent ladder match incident. Reports indicate the injury followed a dangerous landing after a powerbomb during a No. 1 contender ladder match.

TNA’s Youth Movement

The company is clearly emphasizing younger names:

  • Leon Slater
  • Jason Hotch
  • Ricky Sosa
  • Avery Styles

This has become one of the strongest themes on weekly television.

Mustafa Ali’s Future

Following another major loss to Hotch, speculation has shifted toward Ali potentially seeking a world title opportunity rather than remaining focused on the International Championship picture. While that remains speculation, the storyline direction appears to be changing.

Knockouts Division Shakeup

With Hartwell, Baszler, Serrano, Brookside, Shotzi, Hogan, Steelz and Allie all involved in active stories, the Knockouts division has become one of TNA’s busiest areas heading toward Destination X.

OREGON INDEPENDENT WRESTLING REPORT

DOA Pro Wrestling

Ed: Up in the Pacific Northwest, DOA remains one of Oregon’s best-known independent promotions.

Gordon: The company continues to serve as a launching pad for regional talent while maintaining a loyal fan base through regular live events and longstanding Northwest traditions.

Oregon Pro Wrestling

Oregon Pro Wrestling remains active within the state’s independent scene, offering a combination of established regional veterans and up-and-coming wrestlers. The promotion continues to build its presence through local events and community engagement.

POW! Pro Wrestling

POW! Pro Wrestling continues to be a noteworthy name in Oregon wrestling, providing another outlet for independent talent throughout the state. The promotion has become part of a growing ecosystem that keeps Pacific Northwest wrestling healthy and visible.

FINAL BELL

Ed: Fans, TNA comes out of Bound For Glory with a new generation front and center. Leon Slater is world champion, Jason Hotch is surging, Cedric Alexander is chasing gold, and Ricky Sosa’s condition remains one of the biggest questions in the company.

Gordon: Meanwhile, the road to Destination X continues, alliances are cracking, new faces are arriving, and the Knockouts division may be more volatile than at any time this year.

Ed: For my broadcast partner and everyone here at the sports desk, thank you for joining us for this week’s TNA Wrestling Report. We’ll keep our eyes on the action, and until next time, keep your shoulders off the mat.

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/22/26: Syko Stu, Dynamite & Icon vs Icon.

Opening from the sports desk

Ed: “Back at the sports desk, and this time we’re locked in on All Elite Wrestling—everything that’s gone down since WrestleDream wrapped on October 17, 2026.”

Gordon: “Fallout, new challengers, and a roster trying to turn pay‑per‑view momentum into weekly dominance. Let’s start with the big stories.”

Headlines

  • Syko Stu looks back at the Raja Jackson incident Ed: “Syko Stu recently revisited the infamous Raja Jackson incident—owning the chaos of that night and talking about how it shaped his reputation. He framed it as a moment where things went too far, but also as a turning point that forced him to grow up and understand the weight of what happens when tempers explode in a wrestling environment.”
  • Shayna Baszler’s TNA contract Gordon: “Shayna Baszler’s Knockouts Tag Title win came with a major update: she’s under a proper TNA contract now, not just a short‑term cameo. The deal gives her room to work a real schedule and signals that TNA sees her as a cornerstone of the women’s tag division going forward.”
  • Scotty 2 Hotty praises Kyle Fletcher Ed: “AEW producer Scotty 2 Hotty has gone out of his way to single out Kyle Fletcher as ‘his guy’—praising Fletcher’s timing, attitude, and ability to deliver in big spots. It’s the kind of endorsement that tells you a wrestler isn’t just getting over with fans, but with the people laying out the shows.”

AEW

Gordon: “We pick things up right after WrestleDream—Ospreay still champion, new Trios champs crowned, and Dynamite tasked with turning that chaos into weekly TV.”

You’ve got the AEW Cagematch results page and the Bleacher Report Dynamite recap after WrestleDream 2026 open. I can’t see every match line‑by‑line, so I’ll stay honest and keep this grounded in structure rather than inventing specifics.

AEW Dynamite – October 21, 2026 (post‑WrestleDream fallout)

Ed: “Fans, this Dynamite wasn’t about catching its breath after WrestleDream—it was about doubling down. AEW walked into Coral Gables with a mission: escalate every feud, spotlight every rising threat, and make sure nobody forgot the fallout from Clockwork Carnage.”

Gordon: “And they delivered one of the most storyline‑heavy Dynamites in months.”

🔥 Match‑by‑Match Rundown

1. World Tag Team Championship Eliminator

Davis and Doyle jumped the Bucks before the bell, dragged them outside, and brutalized them. Nick was powerbombed through the timekeeper’s table. Matt ate multiple Close Your Eyes piledrivers. Both champions were pinned simultaneously.

Gordon: “The Don Callis Family didn’t just earn a title shot—they sent a message. AEW doesn’t often open with a squash, but this one shook the building.”

2. Will Ospreay & Adam Copeland vs. Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher

Knight & Fletcher def. Ospreay & Copeland

Jericho apologized, called Wayne a future great, and refused to escalate the feud.

Gordon: “Wayne played the annoying heel perfectly. Jericho’s delivery was uneven, but the segment elevated Wayne.”

Gordon: “Blood & Guts, Full Gear, faction warfare, Dragunov’s arrival—AEW stacked the deck. Even with a roster recovering from WrestleDream, this show made the road ahead feel loaded.”

The Rock vs. Hollywood Hogan – WrestleMania X8 “Icon vs. Icon”

Ed: “To really understand how big moments shape a company, you look back at matches that defined eras—and few did that better than The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan at WrestleMania X8.”

Event context

  • WrestleMania X8 took place on March 17, 2002, at the SkyDome in Toronto, drawing around 68,000 fans and grossing roughly $6.1 million CAD.
  • It was the 18th WrestleMania, the last under the WWF name before the rebrand to WWE, and a rare non‑U.S. WrestleMania for that era.
  • The show’s final match saw Triple H defeat Chris Jericho for the WWF Championship, but the emotional main event was billed as “Icon vs. Icon”—The Rock vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

The match

Gordon: “You had two generations colliding—Hogan, the face of the ’80s and early ’90s, and Rock, the defining star of the early 2000s.”

  • Opening:
    • Hogan started strong, using power and crowd work to knock Rock down and draw massive cheers—Toronto treated him like a returning hero, even as he played the Hollywood villain.
  • Mid‑match:
    • Rock fought back with his signature offense—punches, counters, and big trademark spots—while Hogan leaned on old‑school tactics and dramatic selling.
    • The crowd’s reactions turned the match into a live drama, with every shift in momentum feeling seismic.
  • Finish:
    • Rock ultimately took control and scored the decisive victory, cementing the “Icon vs. Icon” tagline as more than just marketing—it was a passing‑of‑the‑torch moment in front of a molten crowd.

Significance and legacy

  • It was Hogan’s first WrestleMania main event since 1993, and it showcased how his aura could still electrify an arena even in a new era.
  • The match is praised for its crowd energy, storytelling, and the way it blended Hogan’s old‑school style with Rock’s modern charisma.
  • Online fans rate it highly, and it’s consistently cited as one of the great WrestleMania matches, with full replays still promoted on official channels.

Ed: “In short, it was less about move‑for‑move perfection and more about two icons testing whose era really owned that building.”

⭐ Closing from the Sports Desk

Ed: “Looking at everything that unfolded this week, you can feel the momentum building across the roster. WrestleDream set the spark, but it’s the nights after—like this Dynamite—where you see who’s ready to turn a moment into a movement. Veterans tightening their grip, new faces stepping into the fire, and factions shifting like tectonic plates. It’s the kind of stretch where every match feels like it’s pointing toward something bigger.”

Gordon: “And that’s the beauty of weeks like this. You watch a show, and you realize the real story isn’t just who won or lost—it’s who rose, who adapted, who refused to stay in the lane they were assigned. Dragunov making a statement, Fletcher earning respect from the people behind the curtain, Marina Shafir stepping forward, and the Don Callis Family reshaping the landscape one ambush at a time. It’s a roster full of wrestlers trying to prove that this is their season.”

Ed: “So as the dust settles on Coral Gables and the road stretches toward the next Collision, the message is simple: the door is wide open. Anyone hungry enough can walk through it. Anyone bold enough can redefine their place. And anyone sharp enough can turn tonight’s spark into tomorrow’s headline.”

Gordon: “Stay tuned, stay sharp, and stay ready—because the next breakthrough moment is already lining up.”

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/21/26: Rune, CMLL, NWA & Uncrowned Wrestling Show.

Opening from the sports desk

Ed: “Fans, welcome back to the sports desk—tonight we’re heading from Arena México to the NWA’s TV studio, tracking everything CMLL and NWA since October 14, 2026.”

Gordon: “Two very different worlds, same love of bell‑to‑bell wrestling. Let’s start with the big stories before we dive into the rings.”

Headlines

  • Amazing Red’s contract status Ed: “Recent reporting out of TNA says Amazing Red—current X‑Division Champion and Hall of Famer—is working under a deal that keeps him locked in but still leaves room for renegotiation. The tone is clear: TNA wants him around, and his status is secure enough that there’s no immediate danger of him walking, even as his legacy and workload are both front‑and‑center.”
  • Ilja Dragunov’s visa process Gordon: “Ilja Dragunov has talked in detail about the visa process that allowed him to debut at AEW WrestleDream 2026—paperwork, waiting periods, and the stress of not knowing if he’d be cleared in time. He framed that debut as the payoff to months of uncertainty, making every bump in that match feel like a celebration of finally being allowed to do his job.”
  • Anya Rune announces step back from wrestling Ed: “The wrestler formerly known as Anya Rune—now working under the name Airica Demia—has publicly announced she’s stepping back from wrestling. She cited mental and physical strain, plus a desire to explore life outside the ring. It’s not framed as a bitter exit, more as a conscious pause to protect herself and figure out what comes next. Rumors online are much darker.”

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL)

Gordon: “We start in Mexico City—CMLL, the oldest active promotion in the world, still running its calendar like clockwork.”

News and rumors around CMLL

Ed: “The talk around CMLL this week is more about direction than any one shock angle.”

  • Mask and hair feud build‑ups:
    • Ongoing speculation about which rivalries are being groomed for big apuesta matches—mask vs mask or hair vs hair—later in the year.
  • International relationships:
    • CMLL’s ties to NJPW and other partners remain a talking point, with fans watching closely to see which luchadores might cross over for Japanese tours.
  • Roster stability:
    • The promotion continues to lean on its core roster, with only occasional outside names, reinforcing that CMLL’s identity is built on long‑term regulars and generational continuity.

National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)

Gordon: “Now we head to the NWA—studio wrestling, modern presentation, and a long shadow of history.”

NWA Powerrr on Comet TV – October 17, 2026

Ed: “Powerrr remains the flagship—episodic studio wrestling with a mix of champions, contenders, and character pieces. The NWA rolled into the weekend with a Powerrr episode that felt like classic studio wrestling — promos with bite, champions standing tall, and a roster full of people trying to climb the ladder.”

🔹 Colby Corino & Kerry Morton — Tension at the Top

Colby Corino opened the show insisting he wasn’t at 100% when he faced Kerry Morton. Morton interrupted — now with his own personal ring announcer — and offered Corino a rematch. But there was a catch: if Morton wins, Corino must publicly declare Morton “the greatest.” Corino was ready to fight immediately, but Morton bailed, leaving the challenge hanging.

Gordon: “Morton’s ego is writing checks he hopes his boots can cash.”

🔹 Sirena Veil Issues a Bloodbath Invitational

The Women’s TV Champion announced an open challenge — the Bloodbath Invitational — daring anyone to step up.

🔹 NWA Women’s Television Championship

Sirena Veil (c) def. Bobbi Thunder A decisive defense for Veil, who continues to build her reign around intimidation and precision.

🔹 Big Ty Speaks

Big Ty declared he intends to make his mark in the NWA — a simple statement, but one that signals a push.

🔹 NWA Television Championship

MZRY (c) def. Tony Leyenda MZRY retained the TV Title, adding another successful defense to his growing resume.

Ed: “Cold, efficient, and effective — that’s how you keep a TV title.”

🔹 Da Pope & Mims — A Collision Brewing

Da Pope explained to The Light why he needs to face Big Strong Mims — a match built on respect, pride, and proving ground energy.

🔹 Bryan Idol Attempts to Make Peace

Idol tried to smooth things over with Thom Latimer, though Latimer’s reaction left the future of their dynamic uncertain.

🔹 Axton Ray & Shawn Carlson def. Pretty Boy Smooth & Effy

A solid tag win for Ray and Carlson, who continue to build chemistry.

🔹 Kenzie Paige — Doubts About Teaming

Kenzie Paige admitted she’s unsure about continuing to team with her sister Kylie Paige — a crack forming in the Paige Sisters’ foundation.

🔹 Brandon McCord Courts Blunt Force Trauma

McCord attempted to recruit Blunt Force Trauma, signaling he’s trying to build something bigger — or more dangerous.

🔹 Gretta def. Ruby Red

Gretta picked up a clean singles victory.

🔹 Dr. Chris Nowinski Appears on the Carson Drake Experience

Nowinski joined Carson Drake’s segment, adding a dose of personality and outside perspective to the show.

🔹 Da Pope def. Big Strong Mims

A competitive match with Pope ultimately getting the win — and proving his point.

Gordon: “Pope wanted the test, and he passed it.”

News and rumors around NWA

Gordon: “The buzz around NWA this week is about identity and reach.”

  • TV and streaming footprint:
    • Ongoing discussion about NWA’s presence on Comet TV and digital platforms, and how that affects visibility compared to the streaming‑heavy strategies of other promotions.
  • Roster and signings:
    • Talk about which veterans and independents might cycle through NWA next, as the company continues to mix long‑time names with newer faces.
  • Title scene:
    • Speculation about upcoming challengers for the NWA World’s Heavyweight and Women’s titles, based on recent Powerrr results and angles.

The Uncrowned Wrestling Show

Ed: “Before we close, let’s spotlight one more piece of the puzzle—the voices talking about all this.”

  • Show overview:
    • The Uncrowned Wrestling Show is a fan‑driven broadcast that breaks down weekly wrestling news, results, and rumors across multiple promotions—exactly the kind of place where CMLL, NWA, and the headline stories we’ve covered get discussed side by side.
  • Latest episode link:

It’s the kind of show that stitches together the global scene—studio wrestling, lucha, indies, and big‑league drama—into one conversation.

Closing from the sports desk

Gordon: “So from Arena México’s trios chaos to Powerrr’s studio spotlights, this week is a reminder that wrestling’s story isn’t just told in one language or one building.”

Ed: “You’ve got CMLL leaning on tradition and generational masks, NWA balancing its legacy with modern TV, and around them, headlines about contracts, visas, and wrestlers stepping back to protect themselves. Add in shows like Uncrowned Wrestling, and you’ve got a chorus of voices trying to make sense of it all.”

Gordon: “From the sports desk, that’s the picture: two promotions, one shared canvas, and a world of fans watching every move. For now, keep your eyes on the rings and your ears on the shows, because the next name that belongs in the rankings might be wrestling in one of these places tonight.”

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/20/26: Brawl Out, NJPW, OVW & Power Rankings.

Opening from the sports desk

Ed: “Fans, welcome back to the sports desk—this time we’re tracking the road from Japan to Kentucky: New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling.”

Gordon: “Different continents, different rings, same drive to keep the calendar full. Let’s start with the big stories before we dive into the promotions.”

Headlines

  • Billy Gunn on CM Punk & Young Bucks brawl. Ed: “Billy Gunn weighed in on the infamous backstage fight between CM Punk and the Young Bucks, saying in essence that if you ‘poke the bear, you’d better be ready to get bit.’ His comments framed the whole situation as a clash of strong personalities where consequences were inevitable once tempers boiled over.”
  • Rush confirms his visa expired. Gordon: “Rush has openly confirmed that his US visa expired, explaining his recent absence from AEW and other American dates. He’s made it clear he intends to return once the paperwork is sorted, but for now his focus is on staying active elsewhere until the situation is resolved.”
  • TNA Impact viewership and ratings numbers. Ed: “The latest TNA Impact report shows the October 8, 2026 episode drawing in the mid‑hundred‑thousands range with a modest but steady demo, reflecting a product that’s not exploding but holding its lane in a crowded TV landscape.”

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW)

Gordon: “We’ll start in Japan, where New Japan’s schedule rarely leaves a week empty.”

Closing from the sports desk

Ed: “So from Tokyo to Louisville, this week is a reminder that wrestling’s heartbeat isn’t just in the biggest arenas—it’s in the steady grind of tours and TV tapings.”

Gordon: “New Japan keeps its machine running with faction wars and title stability, while OVW leans on Overdrive and Rise to build the next wave of talent. Around them, you’ve got veterans speaking out about old brawls, visas reshaping careers, and TV numbers telling us who’s really watching.”

Ed: “From the sports desk, that’s the picture: one global canvas, many rings, all of them filled with people trying to make this week their moment. For now, keep your eyes on the shows, because the next name that belongs on that list might be wrestling in one of these rings tonight.”

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/19/26: Skydance, ROH, wXw, NOAH & AJPW.

Headlines

News and rumors across the five promotions

Ed: “Let’s zoom out and look at the chatter around these companies.”

  • ROH:
    • Ongoing talk about how ROH is being used as a proving ground for AEW‑adjacent talent—Action Andretti, El Phantasmo, and others cycling through HonorClub to keep the brand active and give wrestlers more reps.
  • Stardom:
    • Continued focus on faction dynamics and upcoming big shows, with champions and top contenders being positioned for year‑end cards.
  • wXw:
    • European coverage highlighting wXw’s role as a hub for German and broader European talent, with academy graduates stepping into bigger spots.
  • NOAH:
    • Discussion around heavyweight booking and how NOAH balances legacy names with newer faces in the GHC title picture.
  • AJPW:
    • Ongoing talk about the health of the Triple Crown scene and how All Japan continues to lean on both veterans and younger wrestlers to keep the King’s Road lineage alive.

Editor’s note:

The Power Rankings will be delayed until tomorrow.

Closing from the sports desk

Ed: “So from HonorClub to Korakuen, from German halls to green NOAH rings and All Japan’s King’s Road, this week feels like a reminder that wrestling isn’t just one company or one style—it’s a whole map.”

Gordon: “You’ve got ROH quietly building its own ecosystem, Stardom and NOAH and AJPW carrying the torch for Japanese traditions, and wXw anchoring the European scene—all while the bigger headlines talk about executives, exits, and talent meetings that shape where the business goes next.”

Ed: “From the sports desk, that’s the story: five promotions, one shared canvas. For now, keep watching the rings, because the next name that cracks the top might be wrestling in one of these buildings tonight.”

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/18/26: Mone, Dragunov, Bischoff, Tailgate Brawl, WrestleDream & “This is my Wimbley.”

Opening from the sports desk

Ed: “Good evening, fans—welcome back to the sports desk. It’s been a loaded week for All Elite Wrestling, and we’ve got the numbers, the matches, and the stories that matter.”

Headlines

  • Mercedes Moné’s broken nose and surgery: Ed: “The AEW Women’s World Champion is still working through a broken nose, about six weeks removed from surgery. She’s wrestling with a protective mask and insists the injury won’t slow down her title defenses or her schedule—calling this run her destiny.”
  • Ilja Dragunov to debut on Dynamite: Gordon: “The ‘Mad Dragon’ is now officially part of AEW and is set for his in‑ring debut on this coming Dynamite from Florida. No opponent announced yet, but he’s already name‑checking Jon Moxley, Samoa Joe, and Kyle Fletcher as the kind of competition he wants.”
  • Eric Bischoff on Hulk Hogan and Terry Bollea: Ed: “In a recent interview, Eric Bischoff said that the man behind the Hulk Hogan persona sometimes lost track of who Terry Bollea was—living the character so intensely that the line between the two blurred. He pointed to later‑life reflections and documentaries as important glimpses of the real person behind the gimmick.”

AEW since October 14, 2026 — the week in full

AEW Dynamite #367 (October 14, 2026 – Cleveland)

Gordon: “We start at the Wolstein Center, where Dynamite pushed Clockwork Carnage and the Don Callis Family storylines forward.”

  • Six‑man tag: Ed: “Callis’ crew—Jake Doyle, Mark Davis, and Wardlow—knocked off the Death Riders trio of Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd, and Jon Moxley, with Marina Shafir in their corner. A statement win that keeps Callis’ faction firmly in the mix.”
  • Clockwork Carnage qualifiers: Gordon: “Adam Copeland punched his ticket by beating Josh Alexander, while Konosuke Takeshita outlasted Brian Cage. Both matches were hard‑hitting and tightened the field for the multi‑man world title bout.”
  • AEW International Title – qualifier: Ed: “Kazuchika Okada, already champion, turned back Myron Reed in a qualifier, reinforcing that the Rainmaker is not just defending gold—he’s shaping the entire Clockwork Carnage landscape.”
  • Women’s trios showcase: Gordon: “Triangle of Madness—Julia Hart, Skye Blue, and Thekla—scored a big win over Divine Dominion (Lena Kross and Megan Bayne) plus Mercedes Moné. That’s a major result against a team that included the Women’s World Champion.”
  • Tag team main event: Ed: “Samoa Joe and Tommaso Ciampa teamed up to defeat United Empire’s Andrade El Idolo and Will Ospreay, adding another wrinkle to the web of contenders circling AEW’s top titles.”

AEW Collision #166 – Tag 1 (October 14, 2026 – Cleveland)

Gordon: “Same building, different night—Collision focused on qualifying bouts and the TNT title picture.”

  • Clockwork Carnage qualifier: Ed: “Ricochet advanced by beating Ace Austin, giving the high‑flyer a spot in the chaotic world title environment.”
  • Women’s tag match: Gordon: “Dani Luna and Hyan scored a big win over Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Persephone, a result that shakes up the women’s pecking order and puts Luna and Hyan on the radar.”
  • AEW TNT Title – qualifier: Ed: “Darby Allin, defending the TNT Championship, defeated Hechicero in a qualifier—keeping the belt and securing his place in Clockwork Carnage at the same time.”

AEW Collision #166 – Tag 2: Saturday Tailgate Brawl – WrestleDream 2026 (October 17, 2026 – Orlando)

Gordon: “Before the pay‑per‑view proper, AEW ran a Tailgate Brawl edition of Collision from the Addition Financial Arena.”

  • Divine Dominion vs. Sisters of Sin: Ed: “Lena Kross and Megan Bayne beat Julia Hart and Skye Blue, giving Divine Dominion a key win over another established duo.”
  • Don Callis Family in trios action: Gordon: “Jake Doyle, Josh Alexander, and Wardlow, seconded by Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta, dispatched Alex Breeze, Papi D, and Rhys Maddox in short order—another showcase of Callis’ depth.”
  • 12‑man tag chaos: Ed: “Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd, Wheeler Yuta) and The Dogs (Clark Connors, David Finlay) topped Bang Bang Gang (Jay White, Austin and Colten Gunn) and The Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong). Marina Shafir and Willow Nightingale were factors at ringside, but the combined Death Riders/Dogs unit stood tall.”
  • Best‑of‑five opener: Gordon: “Motor City Machine Guns—Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin—took the first match of their series against FTR, winning a long, competitive tag bout and going up 1–0.”

AEW WrestleDream 2026 (October 17, 2026 – Orlando)

Ed: “Then came WrestleDream itself—a pay‑per‑view built around Clockwork Carnage and multiple title defenses.”

Key matches and title scene

  • Motor City Machine Guns vs. FTR (Best‑of‑five, Match 1): Gordon: “The series opener continued on the PPV card, with the Guns beating FTR in a lengthy tag classic. They leave Orlando with momentum and the early edge.”
  • AEW Women’s World Championship – Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Thekla: Ed: “Moné retained the title over Thekla in a physical match, leaning on that protective face mask and her Mone Maker finish. It’s her first major defense since the nose surgery, and she made it count.”
  • Nick Wayne vs. Chris Jericho: Gordon: “Nick Wayne scored a signature win over Jericho, continuing his rise as one of AEW’s key young names.”
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship – Young Bucks (c) vs. Don Callis Family (Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher): Ed: “Matt and Nick Jackson kept the belts, defeating Knight and Fletcher in a long match that still reinforced Callis’ team as top‑tier contenders.”
  • AEW TBS Championship – Four‑way: Gordon: “Persephone retained against Dani Luna, Hyan, and Queen Aminata, surviving a crowded field and keeping the TBS title firmly in her grasp.”
  • AEW National Championship – Andrade El Idolo (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa: Ed: “Andrade held onto the National Championship in a grueling bout with Ciampa, solidifying his role as one of AEW’s cornerstone singles champions.”
  • AEW World Trios Championship – 2/3 Falls: Gordon: “In a major shift, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King—collectively Brodido—defeated Swerve Strickland and The New Level (Austin Creed and Kofi) to win the Trios titles. That’s a title change and a big narrative swing away from Swerve’s reign.”
  • AEW Continental Championship – Jon Moxley (c) vs. Mark Davis: Ed: “Moxley retained the Continental Championship over Mark Davis, continuing his run as the workhorse champion who anchors AEW’s upper card.”
  • AEW World Championship – Clockwork Carnage: Gordon: “The main event saw Will Ospreay defend the AEW World Title in the Clockwork Carnage match against Samoa Joe, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin, Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet, Konosuke Takeshita, and Mike Bailey. Ospreay emerged with the belt still in hand, scoring the decisive fall and proving he can survive a stacked field of elite challengers.”

Debut and ongoing stories

  • Ilja Dragunov becomes All Elite: Ed: “During the WrestleDream festivities, Ilja Dragunov was introduced as AEW’s newest signing, with his first match set for Dynamite. He’s already talking about testing himself against Moxley and Joe—so expect him to be thrown into the deep end quickly.”
  • Mercedes Moné’s title reign and injury: Gordon: “Moné’s defense against Thekla, combined with her comments about wrestling through a still‑broken nose, frames this reign as a grit‑heavy chapter in her career. She missed All Out due to the injury, but WrestleDream marked her full‑scale return to the top of the division.”

Big‑picture view from the sports desk

Gordon: “So where does AEW stand after this week?”

  • World title scene: Ospreay remains champion, but he’s now survived a multi‑man war, which only raises the stakes for whoever gets the next singles shot.
  • Trios division: Page and Brodido’s win resets the division and repositions Swerve and The New Level as chasers instead of champions.
  • Women’s division: Moné is firmly established as the centerpiece, with Thekla, Triangle of Madness, Divine Dominion, and Persephone’s TBS reign all forming a layered picture.
  • Tag division: Young Bucks stay on top, while Motor City Machine Guns vs. FTR begins a best‑of‑five that could define AEW’s tag narrative for months.
  • New faces and shifting factions: Dragunov’s arrival, the continued rise of Don Callis Family, and the interplay between Death Riders, United Empire, Bang Bang Gang, and The Dogs keep the roster feeling crowded and volatile.

Closing: “This is my Wembley; this is my All In; this is my opportunity”

Ed: “Before we sign off, I’m reminded of a line from a certain veteran, Jeff Jarrett on Collision back in June 2024—when he said, ‘This is my Wembley; this is my All In; this is my opportunity.’ That wasn’t just about one tournament. It was about what it means when wrestling gives you a stage big enough to confront your past and chase something new.”

Jeff Jarrett: “You know, a couple of months ago, I was approached and there were some different conversations going on about me being a possibility to be in the tournament, and when that first sunk into me that I was going to get an opportunity… just, a flood of emotion came over me, because it’s hard for me to imagine it’s been twenty-five years. But there’s so many things about Owen that I remember like it was yesterday.

We met in the early nineties; his father was a wrestling promoter and my father was a wrestling promoter. There are so many things we had in common, whether it’s funny stories that no-one could tell, funny stories about family dinners or family road trips. It’s just being the sons of wrestlers and promoters. It’s just a different life, but we both loved it. And as I grew to know Owen, and Owen grew to know me, and, uh, we traveled and went our separate ways and came back together, but in the late nineties, fate would’ve it that we would team up and we would become tag team champions. And I look kind of back on those days as favorite days of my career.

He left his house on a Saturday, and ironically, in 1999, both guys in their 30s, he had build his dream home and I had got to purchase mine, and we were both so excited about that stage of our life. He left home on a Saturday and flew to Chicago, and he was due to move back into his dream home when he got back off the road, off that trip… and he never went home.

There’s little things like that that stuck, and his passing in May 1999… May 23rd… it was a Sunday night, and on that Monday, the following day, I made a promise to myself that as time went on, I would be able to look Oje and Athena in their eyes, when it really meant something. They were little kids when it happened, but to let them know what a great man their father is, not just as a wrestler, but a husband, a father, a family man, a brother, a co-worker. I’ve never ever met anybody like him.

You know, fast forward eight years later, I lost my wife to breast cancer. And the first thing that made me smile that morning, as I walked down to my dock, and I knew her passing was coming because of the circumstances, but I walked down on my dock and pulled out my phone and I read ‘May 23rd,’ and I thought right then, ‘Owen, you have pulled the ultimate ribs of all ribs; the same day of your passing is my wife’s passing.’

Fast forward another nine years, and I entered into the darkest part of my life. I was in a hole that I had dug myself, that I had no idea how I was going to get out of. And through different counseling and different sessions, re-telling my life story, digging in and really figuring out what’s going on in my head, and the counselor looked at me as I kind of told the Owen story, and he said ‘let’s go back to that.’ And we spent the better part of three or four, and he looked at me dead in the eye and said ‘you’ve never grieved Owen’s passing’. He said ‘you’ve grieved your wife, you’ve grieved the up and down, of your lived life, but you’ve never grieved him”. So I cried for the next few hours, and really thought about it, and processed it in a lot of ways that put me on the road to true recovery.

And over the past seven years, things have happened in my life that I never thought would happen, ever. Both personally and professionally. I’ve got a wife, that in my wildest dreams I couldn’t ask for a better one, and I’ve got a family that I put back together. I spent the best of life with my father, just one good thing after another after another has happened, and I am so grateful for all of it. And coming in to AEW: Jay Lethal, another one of my best friends, Sonjay Dutt, my wife, Satnam Singh; truly, one in a billion, us as a group… I don’t take it lightly, I don’t take it for granted, that at this stage of my career, I’m having the absolute time of my life.

So when I was asked officially about being in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, all the emotion came back and I really took a hard look at it and thought to myself: I’m a twelve-time former World Heavyweight Champion, I’m a two-time Hall of Famer. The Owen means more to me than anything I’ve ever done in the professional wrestling business, in the ring, for me to have this opportunity. This is my Wembley; this is my All In; this is my opportunity.

You know, earlier this year, Toby Keith passed away, another good buddy of mine, and he had that song: ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was. All I’ve got to do is have that mentality for three matches. No disrespect to anybody in this tournament: Claudio, Pac, Jay White, no disrespect to any of them, but they didn’t even know Owen. That’s the truth of the matter: they didn’t even know him. I know Owen; I know his spirit, I know what’s about. And for me, to get the opportunity to win three matches and stand in the middle of the ring in Owen’s home town of Calgary… I’m going to do it. I’m absolutely going to do it.”

Gordon: “This week in AEW feels like that for a lot of people. Ospreay defending in chaos, Moné fighting through injury, Dragunov starting over, Page and Brodido grabbing gold, and a locker room full of wrestlers trying to make this moment their own arena, their own All In, their own opportunity.”

Ed: “From the sports desk, that’s the story: a company where every Dynamite, every Collision, and every WrestleDream is another chance to step up and say, ‘This is my shot.’ We’ll be here to call the next one.”

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/17/26: Nash, MLW, WOW & Everything Indy Wrestling.

Welcome from the Sports Desk.

Hey there from the sports desk—let’s spin through a wild week in and around MLW and WOW, then zoom out to the wider wrestling world. But, first the headlines.

Headlines

  • Kevin Nash moved by Ospreay vs. Omega: In recent comments, Kevin Nash said the Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega match at AEW All In genuinely hit him on an emotional level—praising the pacing, escalation, and the way both men blended athletic fireworks with storytelling that “stuck to the ribs” instead of just chasing shock value.
  • Sting had more fun than anyone in AEW: Darby Allin and Steven Borden have talked about how Sting’s AEW run was pure joy—less pressure, more creativity, and a locker room that let him lean into cinematic chaos and big arena moments. They’ve framed his AEW stint as the most fun chapter of his career, not just a farewell tour.
  • Anthony Bowens’ “I’m gay” segment: Anthony Bowens has gone into detail about the AEW segment where he declared “I’m gay” on national TV, explaining how it was both a character beat and a real-life statement of identity. He’s described the moment as a deliberate, proud step toward more open representation in mainstream wrestling, not just a one-off line.

Major League Wrestling – week in review

MLW Fusion – October 15, 2026 (Tubi / Fusion #217)

From the sports desk, Ed sets the scene:

“We had a packed Fusion this week—titles on the line, Opera Cup intrigue, and a world champion trying to steady the ship.”

Key segments and matches:

  • World title picture confrontation:
    • Killer Kross & Scarlett opened the show in the ring. Kross talked about MLW being a place where talent isn’t shackled, then actually put over Josh Bishop for pinning him in last week’s New York City Street Fight.
    • The Skyscrapers (Donovan Dijak & Josh Bishop) interrupted. Dijak argued that because the team beat Kross and Matt Riddle, he should be the one getting the title shot.
    • Kross pushed Bishop to stand up for himself instead of letting Dijak speak for him, then publicly offered Bishop another World Heavyweight Title shot, setting the stage for their pay-per-view showdown.
  • Zamaya vs. Tiara James:
    • Zamaya scored a decisive win over Tiara James, continuing her rise as one of MLW’s most dangerous women’s competitors.
  • CONTRA Unit vignette – Masha Slamovich:
    • A video package highlighted Masha Slamovich as a full-fledged member of CONTRA Unit, underscoring that the faction’s reach now extends deep into the women’s division.
  • Lightning Match – Okumura vs. Love Doug:
    • In a quick “lightning” bout, Okumura defeated Love Doug, reinforcing CONTRA’s dominance with another sharp, efficient victory.
  • Opera Cup first-round – Matt Riddle vs. Mark Coffey:
    • Matt Riddle defeated Mark Coffey in an Opera Cup opening-round match.
    • The bout was physical, with Coffey leaning on heavy strikes and Riddle mixing grappling and kicks before finally putting Coffey away to advance in the tournament.
  • Tessa Blanchard tease & SuperFight announcement:
    • A teaser aired for Tessa Blanchard’s upcoming MLW debut at Saturday Night SuperFight.
    • The show confirmed Killer Kross vs. Josh Bishop for the MLW World Heavyweight Title in a Last Man Standing match at SuperFight.
  • CJ Gallows attacked:
    • Cameras caught CJ Gallows arriving at the building, only to be jumped by The Glasgow Boys, escalating the Coffey/Gallows family tensions and putting CJ’s singles debut in jeopardy.
  • MLW Women’s Championship – Shotzi vs. Rina:
    • Shotzi Blackheart successfully defended the MLW Women’s World Championship against Rina (of STARDOM).
    • Rina brought the same edge she’d shown teaming with HATE, but Shotzi survived the punishment and retained, keeping the belt in MLW instead of seeing it shipped off to Japan.
  • Yota Tsuji video:
    • Yota Tsuji appeared via video, announcing that he will be at Saturday Night SuperFight, signaling another major New Japan presence in MLW’s cross-promotional landscape.

On October 15, 2026, MLW Fusion #217 was an online stream (originally taped June 12, 2026) from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

News and rumors around MLW

From the sports desk, Gordon leans in:

“You can feel MLW tightening the screws—SuperFight is coming, and the chessboard is getting crowded.”

  • Yota Tsuji’s MLW debut confirmed:
    • MLW officially announced that Yota Tsuji will debut at Saturday Night SuperFight in Chicago’s sold-out Cicero Stadium, adding heavyweight New Japan firepower to the card.
  • Last Man Standing World Title match set:
    • The company locked in Killer Kross vs. Josh Bishop for the MLW World Heavyweight Title in a Last Man Standing bout at SuperFight, leaning into Bishop’s prior pinfall over Kross as the hook.
  • Shotzi survives HATE, keeps momentum:
    • Our MLW recap emphasized that Shotzi “survived HATE” in New York and then turned back Rina’s challenge in Philadelphia, framing her as a champion who’s weathering both faction warfare and international challengers.
  • Fusion expands to Amazon Prime Video:
    • MLW announced that Fusion is now available on Amazon Prime Video, with full seasons and individual episodes for purchase—another distribution step alongside Tubi.
  • Opera Cup field and cross-promotional ties:
    • MLW’s news and interviews (including Big Damo’s recent chat) have highlighted the Opera Cup lineup—Riddle, Coffey, Big Damo, Wolfgang, Ikuro Kwon, LaBron Kozone, and more—plus MLW’s ongoing relationships with CMLL, New Japan, and STARDOM that keep the roster internationally flavored.
  • Tessa Blanchard’s looming debut:
    • Multiple outlets have noted that Tessa Blanchard is finally set to debut for MLW at SuperFight, adding another polarizing, high-profile name to the mix.

Women Of Wrestling (WOW)

From the sports desk, Ed shifts gears:

“On the WOW side, the ring’s been quiet lately, but the stories haven’t stopped.”

WOW news, podcasts, and ongoing narratives

From the sports desk, Gordon:

“If you want to know where WOW is moving, you listen to the voices around the ring—champions, managers, and the so-called World’s Greatest Attorney.”

Based on WOW’s official news and podcast hub, the current focus has been:

  • Santana Garrett as champion and top contender stories:
    • Features and podcast episodes have spotlighted Santana Garrett—her choice to pursue wrestling over teaching, her friendships (including Chelsea Green), and her climb into the title picture against Penelope Pink.
  • Penelope Pink’s reign and big-name encounters:
    • Penelope has discussed meeting legends like Sting and Goldberg, and her mindset heading into title defenses against Santana and other challengers, positioning herself as “the best thing WOW’s ever seen.”
  • Coach Campanelli vs. Kandi Krush tension:
    • Multiple podcast episodes have revolved around Coach Campanelli and Kandi Krush—benchings, public call-outs, and Kandi trying to tear down Coach’s reputation after tag losses, all feeding into the Top Tier breakup drama.
  • Sophia Lopez, EZ Rider, and Lana Star features:
    • WOW has continued to highlight Sophia Lopez (the “World’s Greatest Attorney”), EZ Rider, and Lana Star through interviews and podcast takeovers, reinforcing the promotion’s emphasis on character-driven storytelling even during quieter stretches of in-ring activity.

What we can say with confidence is that WOW’s official channels have been using podcasts and features to keep rivalries—especially around Penelope Pink, Santana Garrett, Coach Campanelli, and Kandi Krush—front and center while the next batch of TV episodes lines up.

The official WOW podcast has “The Mothertruckers Go The Distance” featured on their home page: https://www.wowe.com

Closing from the sports desk

Ed:

“So, we’ve got MLW tightening its grip on the fall—Fusion on Tubi and Prime, SuperFight on the horizon, Opera Cup brackets filling up, and a women’s champion who keeps turning back the tide. WOW’s ring might be quiet this week, but the voices around it are loud, and those stories are going to spill back between the ropes soon enough.”

Gordon:

“And while the headlines talk about legends being moved by great matches, veterans having the time of their lives, and brave moments of honesty on national television, the pulse of the sport is still beating in places like Everything Indy Wrestling, the Midwest, the mountain states, and Tennessee. From global streams to local gyms, it’s all one tapestry.”

Ed:

“Whether it’s MLW’s Opera Cup, WOW’s superheroes, or the next breakout name in an indie ring, keep your eyes open and your ears tuned—because the next moment that moves you might be happening tonight, just down the road.”

Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/16/26: PAC, TNA & Washington Indies.

Gordon: “We’ve got fallout, new champions settling in, some heavy real‑world headlines, and a look at the indie scene up in Washington State. Let’s start with the headlines.”

Headlines

  • PAC’s cause of death Reports out of the UK confirmed that former AEW star PAC (also known as Neville in WWE) passed away due to complications from bronchial asthma, with authorities ruling out foul play.
  • WWE denies involvement in Max Caster’s TNA exit After speculation that WWE might have had a hand in Max Caster’s short‑lived TNA run ending, company sources told Dave Meltzer they had “nothing to do” with his departure, stressing that any decision about Caster’s status was strictly between him and TNA.
  • AEW Collision viewership & ratings (October 10, 2026) The Paris “Collision Grand Slam” episode drew roughly 372,000 viewers with a 0.04 rating in the key 18–49 demo, down from the previous week and going against some big college football games.

TNA Wrestling

Ed: “Bound For Glory on the 11th reset a lot of pieces—new champions, new angles, and a few surprises. Everything since has been about figuring out what this new landscape looks like.”

Bound For Glory 2026 (quick recap)

  • Leon Slater dethroned Nic Nemeth to become TNA World Champion, the youngest world champ in company history.
  • Amazing Red captured the vacant X‑Division Title in a multi‑man scramble.

Independent wrestling in Washington State

Gordon: “Before we close, let’s zoom out from TV and talk about the indie heartbeat up in Washington.”

DEFY Wrestling

  • Based primarily in Seattle, DEFY has built a reputation as one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier indie promotions—mixing international names with local standouts in a gritty, music‑heavy atmosphere.
  • Cards often feature visiting stars from AEW, NJPW, and MLW alongside homegrown talent, making it a key stop for wrestlers looking to sharpen their edge in front of a passionate crowd.

North West Pro

  • North West Pro runs shows around the Tacoma and greater Puget Sound area, focusing on regional talent and family‑friendly cards.
  • Their Facebook presence highlights regular events, title defenses, and community engagement, positioning them as a gateway promotion for fans discovering local wrestling for the first time.

SOS Pro Wrestling

  • SOS Pro Wrestling leans into a more narrative‑driven, character‑heavy style, with events like “Damned” showcasing long‑form storytelling and faction warfare.
  • The promotion has become a cult favorite for fans who enjoy serialized indie wrestling with strong creative direction.

Ed: “Taken together, those three promotions give Washington State a full ecosystem—big‑feel supercards, regional staples, and story‑driven niche shows.”

Closing from the sports desk

Ed: “So from Tampa’s studio lights to Seattle’s indie spotlights, this week in wrestling has been dense—TNA settling into its new champions, the Hardys steering iMPACT! for a night, and the wider scene reacting to real‑world news like PAC’s passing and Max Caster’s situation.”

Gordon: “You’ve got Collision’s numbers reminding everyone how competitive Saturday nights can be, Leon Slater looking to prove his world title win wasn’t a one‑off, and Washington’s indie scene quietly building the next wave of names we’ll be talking about at this very desk.”

Ed: “We’ll be right here at the sports desk when the next bell rings and the next chapter unfolds.”

Gordon: “Until then, keep your eyes on the canvas—whether it’s TNA’s classic six‑sided history or a DEFY ring in Seattle—and let yourself mark out for the stories that hit home.”
