đŠ Daniel Bryanâs âI Am Gratefulâ Promo (Feb 8, 2016)
â Gordon at the sports desk
âThat night in Seattle wasnât just a retirement speechâit was a masterclass in sincerity. Daniel Bryan didnât talk about championships or accolades. He talked about gratitude.â
â Breakdown of the promo
Bryan stood in the ring and said he was gratefulâfor the fans, for the locker room, for the chance to wrestle around the world.
He spoke about his father, about how wrestling gave him purpose, and how the fans made him feel alive.
He acknowledged the heartbreak of retiring due to medical issues, but emphasized that gratitude outweighed sadness.
He thanked the crowd for letting him live his dream and closed with the simple, powerful refrain: âI am grateful.â
â Edâs note on Bryan
âPartner, that promo still echoes today. Every wrestler chasing a dream, every fan whoâs ever felt connected to a momentâthey all felt that speech. Itâs a reminder that wrestling isnât just about wins and losses. Itâs about people.â
đŠ Closing â tying it all together
From Ospreayâs defiant world title defense to Daniel Bryanâs timeless message of gratitude, this week showed the full spectrum of what wrestling can beâloud, chaotic, emotional, and deeply human. AEW delivered spectacle, the news cycle delivered perspective, and Bryanâs words delivered heart. In every arena, from Chicago to Seattle, the story remains the same: wrestling moves fast, but the moments that matter stay with us.

MLW Fusion â September 24, 2026 (Fightland episode)
Gordonâs matchâbyâmatch breakdown
Templario def. Black Tiger Templario and Black Tiger opened with smooth lucha exchangesârollâthroughs, counters, and rope work. Black Tiger leaned into maskâuntying and ruleâbending, drawing heat, but Templario answered with dives through the ropes, a Code Red, and a flurry of offense. He eventually tied Black Tigerâs arms behind his back and forced a submission, giving the CMLL standout a decisive win on MLW turf.
Good Brothers segment with Glasgow Boys On Top On the stage, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson returned as the Good Brothers, with Docâs son CJ Gallows introduced as the guy âhelping set up chairsââa little jab at past colleagues. They were interrupted by Glasgow Boys On Top (Wolfgang & Mark Coffey), who jawed at them before backing off, planting seeds for a future collision without throwing a single punch.
Lady Frostâs open challenge hijacked; Masha Slamovich def. Lady Frost Lady Frost issued an open challenge, and Clara Carter answeredâuntil Masha Slamovich attacked Clara on the way to the ring, choking her on the apron. Joined by Josef Samael, Masha effectively declared allegiance to CONTRA. Frost then faced Masha instead, and the match turned into a showcase of Mashaâs aggression: heavy strikes, relentless pressure, and a decisive win that made the CONTRA connection feel very real.
Killer Kross & Josh Bishop def. Austin Aries & Mistico Backstage, Killer Kross and Josh Bishop teased tensionâBishopâs violent streak vs. Krossâs need for control. In the ring, they faced Austin Aries & Mistico in what MLW billed as a âTaboo Tangle.â Aries took a beating and ended up trapped in Krossâs choke, while Mistico chose not to save him, walking away as Aries faded. Despite Bishop nearly costing them the match with his recklessness, the team still pulled out the win, but the closing visual was Bishop blasting Krossâproof that this alliance is a powder keg.
Edâs MLW note
âTemplario staking a claim, Masha tying herself to CONTRA, and Bishop dropping Kross after a winâthatâs a lot of fault lines in one hour. MLWâs using Fusion to make every segment feel like a turning point.â
Women Of Wrestling (WOW)
Gordon at the sports desk
âIf MLW is about factions and fractures, WOW this week was about trustâwho you can rely on, and what happens when your coach decides youâre better off on the bench.â
Coach Campanelli benches Kandi Krush
From the WOW siteâs feature, the central story is Coach Campanelli deciding to bench Kandi Krush, questioning her focus and readiness. The piece frames it as a toughâlove move: Campanelli believes Kandiâs head isnât fully in the game and that sitting her down might jolt her back into form.
Tag team tension: The benching angle plays directly into the WOW tag division, where chemistry and trust are everything. Kandiâs frustration and Coachâs insistence on discipline set up a future payoffâeither reconciliation or a fullâblown split.

Leon Slater & Nic Nemeth brawl to a noâcontact clause
The show opened with Leon Slater reminding everyone he beat Ryan Nemeth the previous week and calling out TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth for acting like a coward. Nic fired back, saying Ryan would qualify for the XâDivision match at Bound For Glory and that the brothers would ârunâ TNA. Ryan tried a sneak attack, but Slater saw it coming and dropped him, then went after Nic. Security couldnât contain them, so Santino Marella imposed a noâcontact clause: if Nic touches Slater, heâs stripped of the title; if Slater touches Nic, he loses his Bound For Glory shot.
Bound For Glory XâDivision Qualifier
Ryan Nemeth def. KJ Orso KJ Orso jumped out fastâarm work, a moonsault, and submission attemptsâbut Ryan dragged him into deeper water. Orso nearly closed it with a crossface and a twisting splash, but Nemeth escaped, drove Orsoâs shoulder into the post, and hit the Hollywood Ending for the pin, punching his ticket to the sixâway XâDivision Championship match at Bound For Glory.
Dot Combat Match
The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) def. Rich Swann & BDE Weapons and chaos from the bell: chairs, controller spots, and brawling up the ramp. Swann and BDE tried to turn the tide with creative chair offense and a big Frog Splash, but Dutch yanked BDE out of the ring and Vincent finished things with Orange Sunshine. After the bell, they pillmanized BDEâs head in a chair, leaving him laid out and the Righteous looking like a serious threat.
The Hardys call out their attackersâSyx revealed
Matt & Jeff Hardy demanded the mystery attackers show themselves. The lights glitched, the screen flickered, and two masked figures jumped them in the dark. When the lights came back, the attackers were revealed as Samuel Shaw and Joseph Sawyer, now collectively known as Syx. The crowd reacted huge, and the Hardys closed the night promising war.
Elijah vs. Eddie Edwards
Elijah def. Eddie Edwards Eddie tried to grind Elijah down with strikes and veteran tricks, aided by Alisha Edwards at ringside. Elijah answered with ropeâwalking offense, a big DDT, and a topârope attack. When Bryan Meyers and Bear Bronson ran in, Ricky Sosa evened the odds, allowing Elijah to hit Highwaymanâs Farewell and score a clean win over a System cornerstone.
Knockouts TV Championship #1 Contenderâs 4âWay
Elayna Black def. Jada Stone, Harley Hudson & Gabby Forza This fourâway was built around Forzaâs power and the others trying to outâmaneuver her. Multiâwoman suplexes, tandem offense, and a huge towerâofâdoom spot left everyone down. As the Elegance Brand watched from the ramp, Jada Stone hit a Spark Stunner on Forza, but Elayna Black capitalizedânailing Blackout on Stone to win and become the new No. 1 contender for the Knockouts TV Championship.
TNA International Championship 3âWay
Mustafa Ali (c) def. Jason Hotch & Trey Miguel The main event was a frantic threeâway:
Trey Miguel hit a Canadian Destroyer to the floor and a meteora inside the ring.
Jason Hotch landed a double Spanish Fly and a double Frog Splash on both opponents.
Mustafa Ali, with Tasha Steelz at ringside, picked his spots.
In the closing stretch, Steelz slid the belt in; Hotch accidentally wiped her out with a crossbody, and Ali dumped him. When Miguel went for a double stomp off the top, Ali met him midâair with the International Championship belt, then pinned him to retain. Afterward, Ali briefly acted like heâd carry Steelz out, only to drop her and pose with the titleâcementing his selfâcentered edge.
Other key angles & stories this week
Rosemary vignette: A surreal segment showed Rosemary interviewing another version of herself in a psychiatricâstyle setting, hinting at a layered character direction.
Daria Rae suspended: After Rae slapped Indi Hartwell, Santino revealed heâd filmed it and later announced Raeâs suspension, while granting Indi a Knockouts World Title shot at Bound For Gloryâdrawing visible frustration from champion Xia Brookside.
Order 4 fractures: Mustafa Ali berated Mila Moore for booking his title defense; John Skyler defended her, and later Moore quit Order 4 on the spot, with Skyler leaving alongside her. Ali handed his belt to Agent 0 and stormed off, showing cracks in the faction.
Syx vs. Hardys set in motion: The reveal of Syx as the mystery attackers gives TNA a fresh, eerie heel act and a marquee feud with the Hardys heading toward Bound For Glory.
Edâs TNA note
âThis week, TNA felt like a company where every segment had a job: build Bound For Glory, define whoâs climbing and whoâs crumbling, and make sure the Nemeth brothers, Mustafa Ali, and Syx all walk into October with targets on their backs.â
Gordonâs TNA note
âBetween Ryan Nemethâs qualifier, Elayna Blackâs breakout win, and Aliâs opportunistic title defense, the card for Bound For Glory is taking shape around a simple idea: opportunity exists, but itâs rarely clean. TNA is leaning into that chaos.â
Independent wrestling in North Dakota (Below Zero Wrestling)
Below Zero Wrestling
North Dakotaâs indie scene has a clear flagship in Below Zero Wrestling, and their calendar is busy:

Edâs indie note
âPartner, if TNA is the national stage, Below Zero is the proving groundâcold buildings, hot crowds, and wrestlers trying to turn regional buzz into something bigger.â
Gordonâs indie note
âKeeping an eye on places like Minot and Bismarck isnât just trivia; itâs how you spot the next wave. Todayâs indie regular can be tomorrowâs XâDivision wild card or Knockouts standout.â
Closing
As TNA pushes toward Bound For Glory and North Dakotaâs indie scene keeps producing hungry talent, this weekâs wrestling landscape shows how every level of the sportânational, regional, and independentâfeeds into the next. Darby and Borden responded from the rafters, refusing to walk into a Don Callis Family ambush.

Other AEW activity & buzz
Gordonâs quick hits
Card positioning for payâperâview: AEW continues to build toward its next major event with Ospreay vs. Moxley as a centerpiece, while the tag and womenâs divisions quietly shuffle contenders through TV matches and promos.
Rights and media chatter: Meltzerâs note about a promotion losing a Paramount deal due to UFC, plus Tony Khanâs broader comments about mergers and media consolidation in other interviews, keep AEWâs TV future in the conversationâeven when the company isnât directly named.
Locker room perception: Schiavoneâs comparison of Omega vs. Ospreay to Flair vs. Steamboat isnât just nostalgia; it signals how highly AEWâs own people rate the inâring standard theyâre trying to maintain.
Edâs AEW note
âAEWâs week feels less like a series of isolated matches and more like a long drumrollârights talk in the background, bigâmatch praise from the commentary booth, and a roster that knows every TV outing is part of a bigger argument about where this company sits in the modern landscape.â
Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin â sports desk spotlight
Gordonâs history
âWhen we talk about matches that changed the way people saw wrestling, Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin is always near the top of the list.â
The most famous chapter came at WrestleMania 13 in 1997: a submission match where Austin, blood pouring down his face, refused to tap to Bretâs Sharpshooter and passed out instead.
That finish turned Austin from a loudmouth heel into a defiant antiâhero, while Bretâs frustration with the fansâ reaction pushed him toward a darker, more bitter role.
Their rivalry blended technical wrestling, brawling, and character work in a way that helped define the Attitude Era, showing that a double turn could be pulled off in one match without a single spoken word.
Edâs closing word
âAEWâs trying to craft its own OmegaâOspreayâlevel epics right now, and you can hear it when Schiavone invokes Flair and Steamboat. But the shadow of Bret vs. Austin is always thereâa reminder that one match, on one night, can tilt an entire companyâs direction. Thatâs the bar every big AEW main event is quietly chasing.â
Vince Russo leaves Juggalo Championship Wrestling Russo announced heâs done with JCW, explaining that heâd been unhappy with aspects of the promotion and, at 65, isnât the same person he was decades ago. After a phone call with Violent J, both sides agreed to part ways on good terms, with Russo framing this as a broader step back from active wrestling involvement.
Nic Nemeth says Leon Slater will ârun pro wrestlingâ TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, gearing up to defend against Leon Slater at Bound for Glory, praised Slaterâs ring IQ, athleticism, and charisma, joking that heâll be ârunning pro wrestling for the next 20 years.â Nemeth still vowed to keep his title, leaning on his experience and savvy as the deciding edge.
Tony Khan talks Paramount/WB merger AEWâs president used his preâDynamite livestream to welcome the reported ParamountâSkydance/WBD merger, saying heâs long hoped for a unified Paramount/WBD front and believes it will make AEW stronger. Edâs CMLL note
âFrom the Anniversary showâs apuesta drama to Thunder Rosa holding the national womenâs title, CMLLâs week felt like a blend of tradition and modern crossover. Youâve got international names mixing with homegrown stars, and the calendar doesnât let up.â
National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)
Gordon at the sports desk
âIf CMLL is the cathedral, the NWA this week was the pressure cookerâPowerrr from the 2300 Arena, with contenders, family legacies, and a Texas Death Match that felt right at home in Philly.â
âFive men fighting for a shot at the Ten Pounds of Gold, tag champions trying to stay one step ahead, and a Hart family standardâbearer walking into the NWA to stir up the womenâs divisionâthatâs a full night at the office.â
Gordonâs matchâbyâmatch rundown
NWA World Tag Team Championship:The Country Gentlemen (KC & AJ Cazana, with Col. Joe Cazana) defended against Blunt Force Trauma (Carnage & Damage). The champs jumped BFT before the bell, turning it into a wild brawl. Damage fought back with power offense, but a distraction involving the branding iron let AJ land a decisive shot and score the pin, keeping the belts on the Gentlemen and reinforcing their âby the bookâ mantraâwith a wink.
Fiveâway number one contenderâs match (Ten Pounds of Gold):Heath, Pretty Boy Smooth, Kratos, Jack Talos and Effy battled for a future world title shot. Smooth and Talos had a bigâman stareâdown from the start, while Kratos launched himself in a dive that wiped out the field. Effy absorbed heavy punishment, including being hurled across the ring by Kratos, then hit a double Blockbuster on both giants. In the end, Smooth dropped Effy, but Heath slipped in, cleared Smooth out, and stole the pinâearning the number one contender spot and reminding everyone that the âoneâman bandâ still plays loud.
Backstage tension â Mims & Pope: In a segment between matches, Mims and The Pope talked about their team needing changes, with Pope stressing that Mims has to start listening if theyâre going to stay competitive. Itâs a quiet but important thread in the tag and midâcard picture.
Brandon McCordâs warning to The Hardway:Brandon McCord, flanked by his âCollectionâ of Voodoo God Bonez and Gaagz The Gymnast, sent a message to The Hardway that theyâre coming for the NWA U.S. Tag Team Titles, signaling another layer of tag division movement.
Nattie Neidhartâs promo â Hart family business: Inâring with Kyle Davis, Nattie framed the NWA as family, noting that her grandfather Stu Hart started his career in the NWA over 80 years ago. She said she came down from her âWWE mountaintopâ to handle âfamily business,â focusing on Kenzie and Kylie Paige. She praised the Paige sisters as topâtier talents but warned that only one would truly make it, urging them to look at each other and decide who would twist the knifeâbefore promising to twist it herself. It was a sharp, confident promo that tied Hart history directly into the modern NWA womenâs scene.
Carson Drake Experience with Silas Mason: On Drakeâs talk segment, âThrillbillyâ Silas Mason, the NWA Worlds Champion, made it clear he intends to keep the Ten Pounds of Gold, promising to burn things down if necessary. The exchange set the tone for their upcoming title clash and underscored Masonâs volatile presence at the top of the card.
Main event â Texas Death Match (in Philly):âToo Hot 2 Trotâ Alex Taylor faced Ricky Morton (with Kerry Morton). The fight started before the bell, spilling from the ramp to the ring. Morton laid out thumbtacks, and the Mortons turned the early moments into a twoâonâone assault. From there, the match leaned into the Texas Death stipulationâweapon spots, knockdowns, and the kind of grit you expect from Ricky in a building that knows his history. The bout served as a generational clash and a violent punctuation mark on the episode with Taylor walking away with the victory.
Edâs NWA note
âBetween Heath sneaking into a title shot, Nattie tying the Hart legacy back to the NWA, and Silas Mason promising to torch the place if he has to, Powerrr felt like a show where every segment nudged the promotionâs identity forward.â
NWA: The promotion continues to use Powerrr as its central storytelling hub, with Heathâs new contender status, the Paige sistersâ looming clash with Nattie, and Silas Masonâs reign all feeding into NWA 78 and beyond. The companyâs emphasis on legacyâMorton, Neidhart, Hart family referencesâkeeps the brand anchored in its history while introducing new faces like Pretty Boy Smooth and Jack Talos to the national audience.

Mina Shirakawa â Spotlight at the sports desk
Gordonâs profile
âMina Shirakawa is the bridge between the Japanese joshi scene and the global television eraâa late starter whoâs sprinted past expectations.â
Background & stats: Born December 26, 1987, in Tokyo, Mina stands around 157 cm (5’2″) and weighs about 54 kg (119 lb). She studied English and American literature at Aoyama Gakuin University and worked as a wedding planner, gravure model and tarento before entering wrestling.
Career path: Debuted in 2018 after training with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, then rose to prominence in Stardomâwinning the Wonder of Stardom, Goddesses of Stardom, Artist of Stardom and Future of Stardom titles, and founding Cosmic Angels before leading Club Venus/Empress Nexus Venus.
âSheâs proof that charisma, grit, and timing can rewrite a career at 30-plus. As NJPW and AEW try to balance their relationship, Mina stands right in the middle of that crossroadsâone of the faces who makes this era feel bigger, brighter, and a lot more unpredictable.â
â Closing Segment â Ed & Gordon at the Sports Desk
Ed: âPartner, when you look across everything we covered tonight â from New Japanâs faction firefights to OVWâs grind-it-out title races â you can feel how alive the wrestling world is right now. Every promotion we touched is moving, shifting, building toward something bigger.â
Gordon: âAnd thatâs the beauty of weeks like this. You see veterans holding their ground, prospects clawing for daylight, and entire divisions reshaping themselves in real time. New Japanâs Road to Destruction is tightening the screws, OVWâs Fight Night fallout is still echoing, and the headlines outside the ring remind us how unpredictable this sport can be.â
Ed: âMomentum changes fast. One injury, one upset, one breakout performance â and suddenly the whole landscape tilts. But thatâs why weâre here at the sports desk: to track every twist, every surprise, every name stepping forward.â
Gordon: âSo as we wrap up, keep your eyes on the ones making noise â the ones refusing to wait their turn. Because next week, the stories weâre talking about tonight might look completely different.â
Ed: âAnd thatâs the fun of it. Weâll be right back here at the sports desk to break it all down. Until then â stay sharp, stay curious, and stay tuned.â

Jim Ross admitted he has mixed feelings about Sami Zayn winning a WWE world titleârespecting Zaynâs talent and connection with fans, but questioning whether the company will fully commit to him as a longâterm top guy. AEW â sports desk rundown
AEW Collision â September 19, 2026
National Championship: Andrade El Ădolo (c) vs. Daniel Garcia
Result: Andrade retains
Ed: âThis was all about whether Garcia could turn his recent momentum into gold.â
Garcia targeted Andradeâs leg and neck, chaining submissions and suplexes, while Andrade leaned on counters, ropeârunning, and his trademark doubleâknees. Late in the match, Garcia nearly stole it with a sharpshooter and a dragon screw combo, but Andrade escaped, hit his running double knees in the corner, and finished with a hammerlock DDT to keep the National Title.
Gordon: âGarcia looked like he belonged in that spot. Andrade, though, is in that champion groove where he can absorb a lot and still close the show.â
Collision filled out with multiâman matches and tags:
A showcase trios bout featuring New Level shaking off the previous Dynamite ambush and reasserting themselves.
A hardâhitting tag match with The Dogs continuing their rise in the midâcard, leaning on brawling and doubleâteam offense.
Results kept the All Out build intactâno shock title changes, but plenty of momentum shifts.

New Levelâs growing presence: Swerve, Kofi, and Austin Creed are being framed as a longâterm trio project, with their theme, presentation, and challengers all getting significant TV time.
Gordon: âAEWâs week is less about surprise twists and more about tightening the screws on stories theyâve already set in motion.â
Closing segment â the July 11, 2011 RAW promo (CM Punk & John Cena, âpipe bombâ)
Ed: âLetâs close by stepping back into one of the most famous promos of the modern eraâthe night the word âpipe bombâ became part of wrestlingâs vocabulary.â
On July 11, 2011, CM Punk sat crossâlegged on the RAW stage and cut a promo that blurred the line between storyline and realityâcalling out WWE management, criticizing how talent was used, and framing himself as the outsider who knew exactly how the machine worked. At one point he said:
âIn anybody elseâs hands, this is just a microphone. In my hands, itâs a pipe bomb.â
John Cena was the champion and the companyâs standardâbearer, and Punkâs words turned their match into more than a title boutâit became a referendum on who really represented the future of wrestling. The promoâs legacy is that it opened the door for more meta, selfâaware storytelling and showed how powerful a single, wellâaimed monologue could be.
Gordon: âItâs the kind of moment that still echoes through how fans talk about wrestling todayâevery time someone grabs a mic and starts blurring those lines, you can feel the shadow of that pipe bomb.â
Ed: âAnd thatâs your week from the sports deskâAEWâs Collision, the headlines around Hager, Conway, and Zayn, and a look back at the promo that changed how a lot of people hear a microphone in this business.â
Ed: âFans, welcome back to the sports desk. This time weâre looking at two very different corners of the wrestling worldâMajor League Wrestling and Women Of Wrestlingâboth grinding away with TV, streaming, and live dates. Before we get into Fusion and WOW Superheroes, letâs start with the headlines that set the tone for the week.â

Bully Ray explained that the feud with the Motor City Machine Guns was a major catalyst for the Team 3D breakup storyline. He said working with Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin pushed him and DâVon to rethink what they were doing, and that the creative tension and chemistry in that program helped lead to the angle where Team 3D split, giving all four guys more room to grow as singles and as characters.
Gordon: âDreams realized, tribal lines questioned, and a legendary team reshaped by a rivalryâthatâs the backdrop for MLW and WOW this week.â
Major League Wrestling (MLW)

đ Opera Cup Opening Round: Austin Aries def. Tracy Williams
The show kicked off with the National Openweight Champion stepping into the spotlight and reminding the audience heâs not a nostalgia act â heâs still very much in the fight. Aries told the crowd that people talk about him like heâs yesterdayâs news, and heâs out to prove otherwise by taking the Opera Cup on top of everything else heâs already done.
Williams pushed him hard, trapping Aries in multiple submissions and drilling him with a turnbuckle DDT variation. Aries escaped the STF by biting Williamsâ arm, knocked him to the floor with a neckbreaker, and finished the match with a corner dropkick into a brainbuster. The Openweight Title wasnât at stake.

Kross joked that his neck still hurts from being chokeslammed repeatedly. Bishop agreed to team up and suggested setting their opponents on fire â Kross reminded him that the match isnât noâDQ.
đ Opera Cup Opening Round: Trevor Lee def. Mistico (CountâOut)
Trevor Lee, the Southern Crown Champion, went nearly the full 20âminute limit with Mistico, who was chasing a third straight Opera Cup victory. Both men unloaded their arsenals â Lee with a sliding forearm, backbreaker, and German suplex; Mistico with a suicide dive, midâair hurricanrana reversal, Spanish fly, and rapidâfire kicks.
Late in the match, a masked figure appeared at ringside. Commentary identified him as Austin Aries wearing Misticoâs stolen mask. As Mistico climbed the ropes, Aries yanked the referee out of the ring and dropped Mistico with a brainbuster on the floor. The official counted Mistico out.
Lee clearly didnât want to advance that way, but he moves on to face Aries in the next round.
Aries grabbed a mic afterward: âMistico wonât be taking the Opera Cup this year. That leaves one man to finish the job â Austin Aries.â
Mistico and Aries are still scheduled to team at Fightland against Kross and Bishop.
đ Opera Cup Bracket Update

“Nigel Zane and David McLane welcomed WOW legend, EZ Rider, to the Official WOW Podcast this week to talk wrestling, comedy, and in-ring injuries. Growing up in South Philly with six brothers, EZ was no stranger to wrasslin, rough housing, and talking trash. EZ showed up to a WOW tryout cutting harsh promos while swinging around a real baseball bat, and fit right into Thugâs motorcycle gang, Harleyâs Angels. As a member of the original WOW roster, EZ feuded with âThe Real Dealâ Selina Majors, sending Majors to the hospital for a broken leg, and crossed paths with former WOW World Tag Team Champions Caged Heat!
EZ Rider on fighting Caged Heat for the tag team titles: âWhat a fight, what a matchâŠwe really took it out of each other⊠I remember leaving and they had to cut my jeans off âcause my knee had blown upâŠanything couldâve happenedâŠwe both fight dirty.â
EZ Rider on Selina Majors breaking her finger: âShe hit me with a chair and broke my pinky. She took the chair from meâŠIâm a street fighter, when I feel a chair coming at me, my brain goes a different directionâ
David McLane went on to tell a story about the first ever all female professional wrestling pay-per-view, WOW Unleashed. After the event had concluded, he expected his business partner, Jeanie Buss, to have left the building and gone home. To his surprise, McLane went backstage and found Buss, the LA Lakerâs part owner, talking to EZ Rider and Charlie Davidson at one in the morning! Jeanie Buss regards that memory as the moment she truly saw all that womenâs wrestling could be, launching her historic partnership with David McLane that keeps WOW: Women Of Wrestling on household televisions across the world to this day.
EZ Rider on Jeanie Buss stepping into an on-camera roll for WOWâs season 5: âI think itâs amazing, I think itâsâ greatâŠ[Buss] is the only female who has an NBA titleâŠperfect for WOW: Women Of WrestlingâŠitâs incredibleâ
David and Nigel dive into EZ Riderâs extensive comedy career, highlighting her shows with fellow comedian, Andrew Dice Clay. David shared a story about preparing to see EZ perform in Vegas on his birthday, and eating an unsuspecting brownie in his hotel room, only to find out too late that it was a 300mg marajuana brownie! McLane struggled through the next several hours, but shook off his daze when EZ Rider took time out of her show to shout out David for his birthday. David stood up in the crowd, soaked in the applause, but has sworn off pot ever since.”
Gordon: âWOWâs strength is clarityâevery character has a lane, every match has a story, and the weekly show keeps those threads moving.â
News & rumors around MLW and WOW
Ed: âLetâs tie these promotions into the wider conversation.â
MLW: Talk continues about MLWâs role as a bridge between indie and TVâhow it gives wrestlers a chance to work longer matches with storylines while still feeling like a touring independent. Rumors often swirl about which MLW names might be on the radar for AEW, WWE, or Japan.
WOW: WOWâs chatter tends to focus on visibilityâsyndication deals, streaming options, and how the promotion can keep expanding its audience while staying true to its superhero branding.
Gordon: âBoth companies are fighting for space in a crowded ecosystemâMLW with its hybrid fight feel, WOW with its characterâdriven womenâs roster.â
Closing segment â Everything Indy Wrestling (Facebook group)
Ed: âAnd weâll close at the grassroots level, with the Facebook group Everything Indy Wrestling:
Show plugs and posters: Members regularly share flyers for upcoming indie cardsâlocal promotions, charity shows, and regional tours.
Match clips and photos: Short video clips, entrance shots, and ringside photos from recent events are common, often highlighting breakout performances or wild spots.

The 3 most recent posts: Zoey Serrano won the Rising Stars Women’s Championship, tonight. Banger Zone Wrestling featured a table spot, but this was at Watermania so the table was floating in a swimming pool. Finally, Thrash Wrestling was in Oliver, British Columbia at the Oliver Fire Hall, featuring their champion Ginha, Zombie Killer Mentallo & Japanese star, Blankey Maho.
Gordon: âIn other words, itâs the living bulletin board for the sceneâwhere the next MLW or WOW star might be getting their reps right now.â
Ed: âFrom the sports desk to the smallest indie ring, thatâs your snapshot of MLW, WOW, and the conversations shaping wrestling this week.â
Ed: âFans, welcome back to the sports desk. TNAâs been busy, with Bound For Glory creeping closer and careers literally hanging in the balance. Tonight weâre zeroing in on the latest iMPACT! from Brampton and the stories that spun out of itâbut first, letâs hit the headlines that framed the week across the wider wrestling world.â

A new report says Ilja Dragunov has already put pen to paper with AEW and is expected to start âvery soon.â The deal reportedly came together after his WWE exit earlier in the summer, with Tony Khan long vocal about wanting the âMad Dragonâ on his roster. All Out and the upcoming Grand Slam show in France are both being floated as likely debut windows.
Will Ospreay reflects on his All In entrance
Ospreay called his All In 2026 entrance âone of the craziest nights of my life,â talking about walking through his own history while The Whoâs âBaba OâRileyâ played and his mom narrated the video package. He said seeing how many people were emotionally hit by that entranceâand hearing that even Nick Jackson cried rewatching itâmade the whole thing feel like a careerâdefining moment.
Indie star steps away after The Butcherâs death
Independent wrestler Ganon Jones Jr. announced heâs stepping away from wrestling after Andy âThe Butcherâ Williamsâ tragic death during an Enjoy Wrestling show near Pittsburgh. Jones said the night was one of the worst of his life, and that his daughterâs textââI am not letting u do wrestling anymoreââmade him realize he needed to step back and be a dad first, even if he hopes the break isnât permanent.
Gordon: âBig signings, emotional reflections, and a heartbreaking pause in one manâs careerâthatâs the emotional canvas behind TNAâs week.â
TNA iMPACT! â September 17, 2026 (CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario)
Ed: âThis was the last show from the Brampton tapings, and it was all about setting the table for Bound For Gloryâtitles, qualifiers, and Mooseâs entire TNA career on the line.â
Knockouts Television Championship
M by Elegance (c) vs. Kiera Hogan (with Allie)
The show opened with M by Elegance defending the Knockouts TV Title against Hogan. After some early heel grandstanding, M took control, but Hogan fought back with a shotgun dropkick, corner hip attack, and running dropkick.
M cut off Hoganâs momentum, countering a Face the Music attempt with a Codebreaker. Hogan answered with a missile dropkick, but M dragged her off the ropes and finished her with an inverted piledriver/driver variation to retain.
Gordon: âFirst defense for M, and she made it countâclean win, decisive finish, and the TV belt stays put.â
XâDivision Championship Scramble Qualifier
Rich Swann vs. LJ Cleary
With the XâDivision Title vacant after Leon Slater cashed in Option C, Swann and Cleary fought for a spot in the sixâway scramble at Bound For Glory.
Cleary got to show offâspringboard Canadian Destroyer, topârope stomp, tope con hiloâwhile Swann answered with superkicks, poisonrana, and highâimpact offense.
Swann ultimately hit a Phoenix Splash to win and secure his place in the scramble.
Ed: âThat was classic XâDivisionâfast, inventive, and a showcase for both guys, even with Swann moving on.â
Elijah & Ricky Sosa vs. The System
Elijah & Ricky Sosa vs. Eddie Edwards & Cedric Alexander (with Alisha Edwards)
The System leaned on interference and doubleâteams, working over Elijah while Alisha caused trouble at ringside.
Sosaâs hot tag turned the tide: counters out of the Lumbar Check, German suplex, Headshot knee strike, and a springboard moonsault helped seal the win for Elijah & Sosa.
After the match, Edwards, Myers, and Bronson attacked, with Edwards hitting a package piledriver on Sosa and cutting a promo about how many âRicky Sosasâ heâs seen come and go. He then challenged Sosa to a singles match at Bound For Glory.
Gordon: âBig win for Elijah and Sosa, followed immediately by a reality checkâEdwards turned the postâmatch into a test of whether Sosa really belongs.â
Leon Slater vs. Ryan Nemeth
Slater, already lined up for a TNA World Title shot against Nic Nemeth at Bound For Glory via Option C, faced Ryan Nemeth here.
The match was a quick, energetic showcase for Slater, ending with him hitting a Swantonâstyle 450 splash for the pin.
After the bell, Nic Nemeth attacked Slater from behind, using the title belt to leave the challenger laying, reinforcing the idea that the champion is willing to use his brother as a pawn.
Ed: âSlater keeps stacking wins, but Nic made sure the road to Bound For Glory is paved with cheap shots.â
Zoey Serrano vs. Harley Hudson
Serrano scored a pinfall win over Hudson with the Hell and Back knee strike.
Postâmatch, authority figure Daria Rae ordered Serrano to keep attacking Hudson, but Indi Hartwell ran in to stop the assault, telling Daria that she and Hudson werenât going anywhere despite the threats.
Gordon: âShort match, but it pushed the ongoing story of Daria trying to weaponize Zoey while Hartwell steps into the protector role.â
Mooseâs Career on the Line
Moose vs. Frankie Kazarian (with Avary Styles)
The main event carried the stipulation: if Kazarian won, Mooseâs TNA career would be over.
Kazarian cut a heartfelt promo earlier in the night, thanking Moose for carrying TNA and saying heâd miss him, framing the match as the âfinal chapterâ of Mooseâs run.
In the match itself, both men leaned on big strikes and finishers. Moose ultimately hit two huge Spears to score the pin and keep his career alive.
Afterward, Moose slid a chair into the ring, placed Kazarianâs crown in the center, and smashed itâsymbolically ending Kazâs âkingâ persona and reasserting himself as the franchise.
Ed: âWhatever you think of Moose, that finish was a statement: heâs not leaving, and heâs not sharing the throne.â
Other TNA notes from the week
Backstage threads:
Gia Millerâs interview with Leon Slater framed his Bound For Glory path clearly: he respects Nic Nemeth, but resents being tested via Ryan.
Mila Moore and John Skylerâs ongoing âalmostâromanceâ continued, with Skyler trying to check on her after the Tasha Steelz brawl and getting unintentionally brushed off again.
The Righteous vs. BDE & Swann:
Vincent and company cut a vignette accusing BDE of choosing comfort over growth, challenging BDE and Swann to a match where they can pick the stipulationâanother Bound For Gloryâadjacent story brewing.
Gordon: âTaken together, itâs a classic TNA build: XâDivision chaos, Knockouts spotlight, tag feuds, and a world title program built around respect turning sour.â
Independent wrestling in Colorado
Ed: âLetâs close by zooming out from TV and looking at the grassrootsâindependent wrestling in Colorado.â
