Around the World of Pro Wrestling 10/25/26: Bischoff, Collision & “You ain’t ready for the misery!”

Good Evening, Wrestling Fans!

Welcome once again to the sports desk, where we’re taking a look at everything happening in All Elite Wrestling this weekend.

HEADLINES

Ed: Before we get to the action, let’s start with some of the biggest stories making news around professional wrestling.

Gordon: Eric Bischoff recently discussed the value of episodic storytelling in wrestling, emphasizing the importance of creating weekly television that keeps audiences returning instead of focusing only on major events.

Ed: Fans of Ring of Honor could say there is hope as Jonathan Gresham confirmed he would return to ROH competition, but stating “I’m never going to say never, but I’ve reached out several times to apologize in person when they’ve come here to Atlanta…I’m just going to say ‘no’ was the answer that I got. And that’s fair,” the former ROH Pure and World Champion said on “Grapsody Podcast.” “The way that I went off, I probably wouldn’t want to talk to me either. But again, I think we should also look at why did he go off? I just didn’t arrive at the show and go, ‘You know what, motherf***er?’ That’s not what happened. There was a reason why, a buildup, frustration. And to be honest, to this day, I, again, I do not agree with how I went about it, but I think that I had good reason to be upset.”

Gordon: And Charlotte Flair provided an update on her father, Ric Flair, telling fans that he’s receiving medical care and expressing appreciation for the support that’s poured in from around the wrestling world. Ric had jokingly blamed the situation on The Ultimate Warrior dropping him on his head.

AEW: WHERE THINGS STAND

Ed: AEW is now moving from WrestleDream fallout into the build toward Blood & Guts and Full Gear.

Gordon: The biggest stories involve the emergence of a new alliance around Jay White, continued warfare involving the Death Riders, growing tension surrounding the Don Callis Family, and several major title pictures beginning to take shape.

AEW DYNAMITE

October 21, 2026

The post-WrestleDream edition of Dynamite featured several major developments.

Notable Results and Developments

  • AEW World Champion Will Ospreay teamed with Adam Copeland against members of the Don Callis Family.
  • Queen Aminata and returning Maya World battled for a future TBS Championship opportunity.
  • The Young Bucks faced Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in championship eliminator competition.

Major Storyline Notes

Gordon: Perhaps the biggest development was the alliance between the Bang Bang Gang and The Dogs, a move that immediately shifted the balance of power throughout the promotion.

Ed: The Don Callis Family also strengthened its position heading deeper into the fall season, while Blood & Guts challenges continued to emerge.

  • Women’s Blood & Guts developments

CLASSIC COLLISION MOMENT

September 16, 2023

Eddie Kingston’s Warning

Ed: Before we leave, let’s rewind the tape to one of the most memorable early Collision promos.

Gordon: Following months of conflict and emotional intensity, Eddie Kingston delivered a warning that resonated with fans throughout AEW:

“You ain’t ready for the misery.”

The line perfectly captured Kingston’s gritty, uncompromising character and remains one of the more memorable verbal shots from AEW Collision’s early era.

THE PROMO

Eddie Kingston: “What do you guys want me to say? Like, don’t we have a thing on YouTube explaining it? Me and Claudio go back all the way to 2000 and what? 6? 7? When he first moved to this country? And we became friends? And we lived together? And then he started judging me? Knowing what I had to go through mentally and physically and emotionally every day? Yeah, you can say whatever you want but I’m still here standing tall.

But Claudio decided not to do business, not to respect me. And don’t edit this out, you fucking idiots: He left potholes in that road that many of us had to clean up. That’s why I don’t like him, that’s why I still hold the grudge.

Don’t edit this out either: Renee [Young] told me to fix it, and it’s driving me nuts because I’ve been trying to fix it. I thought at Wembley I could fix it. I thought a singles match with me and Claudio could fix it. I thought maybe me not answering Jon’s calls could fix it.

But you know what, Claudio? This will fix it. This will be it. I don’t care win or lose, this is it. And you’re right, bro. You said one time to me ‘You know, Eddie, you don’t know how to have friends. You can’t keep them.’ You’re right. ‘Cause I push everyone away and then I blame them. That’s the sickness in me. That’s the curse I gotta live with. But you know what I do have? And I’ve always had? Home.

New York’s always been with me. Whether it’s the boroughs, whether it’s Yonkers, whether it’s Mount Vernon. Wherever I go in New York is mine. It’s my home. And you think I’m gonna let you come to Arthur Ashe… and beat me? And end me, and end this, with MY shoulders down to the mat? You’re out of your fucking mind.

All of New York has my back and I’ll see you there. Try to beat me there. Try to beat me in New York. We’re different there, brother. We’re built different. We’re built in the cold. We’re built in the misery.

Can you deal with that? Can you be built on misery? Nah, you can’t. I give you all the credit in the world: you’re a great wrestler. You’re amazing. You got the body, you got everything. But you ain’t ready for the misery. You ain’t ready for home.

I’m gonna fuck you up in New York, motherfucker. [Eddie walks out] There you go. Now tell them to bleep the [censored] out.”

FINAL BELL

Ed: Wrestling fans, the road to Blood & Guts is getting rougher by the week. New alliances are forming, old enemies are finding each other once again, and championship opportunities are hanging in the balance.

Gordon: Jay White has assembled a dangerous force, Jon Moxley finds himself surrounded by challengers, and Full Gear is already beginning to take shape in the distance.

Ed: For my broadcast partner and everyone here at the sports desk, thank you for joining us this evening.

Gordon: Keep your eyes on the wrestling world, because things change quickly around here.

Ed: And don’t forget to check back tomorrow. We’ll have more news, more results, and more action from across professional wrestling. Good night, everyone!

⭐ Greetings from the sports desk

Ed: “Fans, settle in. AEW has been moving fast this week — Paris, Pittsburgh, and everywhere in between — and the road to WrestleDream is tightening like a drum.”

Gordon: “Clockwork Carnage qualifiers, title defenses, and a Collision card in Paris that felt like a pay‑per‑view. Let’s start with the headlines.”

⭐ Headlines

Nattie wants to do more Bloodsport

Natalya said she wants to continue working with Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, praising the physicality and the hybrid grappling style. She called it “a challenge I want more of,” signaling she’s not done exploring shoot‑style wrestling.

Clockwork Carnage qualifiers

The field for AEW’s first-ever Clockwork Carnage match keeps growing:

  • Samoa Joe qualified on Dynamite by beating Jack Perry.
  • Speedball Mike Bailey qualified on Collision by defeating Lee Moriarty.
  • Ricochet vs Ace Austin is set for Wednesday to determine another entrant.

AJ Styles didn’t want to be Bullet Club leader

AJ Styles explained that when he joined NJPW, he didn’t want to be the “leader” of Bullet Club — he wanted the group to feel more like a collective than a hierarchy. He said the faction worked best when everyone contributed rather than following one figurehead.

⭐ AEW WEEK IN REVIEW

Ed: “Collision Grand Slam: Paris was the centerpiece, but the entire week was stacked with movement toward WrestleDream.”

⭐ AEW Collision — October 10, 2026

Adidas Arena — Paris, France

🔹 The Conglomeration vs Death Riders

Winners: Death Riders

A wild, multi‑layered brawl featuring Marina Shafir and Willow Nightingale mixing it up with the men. Claudio and Yuta eventually isolated Kyle O’Reilly, finishing with a gut‑wrench lift and double stomp for the pin.

Gordon: “That was less a match and more a controlled riot.”

🔹 Nick Wayne vs Chris Jericho

Winner: Nick Wayne

Wayne jumped Jericho before the bell, fought through Jericho’s veteran tricks, countered the Judas Effect, and hit Wayne’s World to score a major win in Paris.

🔹 Clockwork Carnage Qualifier

Speedball Mike Bailey vs Lee Moriarty Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey

A technical sprint with both men trading submissions, strikes, and rope‑running counters. Bailey hit Ultima Weapon to secure his spot in Clockwork Carnage.

Ospreay came out afterward to congratulate his United Empire teammate.

🔹 Swerve Strickland vs Carlie Bravo

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Bravo brought STP backup, but Swerve fought through interference, hit House Call, then Swerve Stomp to close it out.

🔹 Andrade El Idolo vs Michael Oku — National Championship

Winner (and still): Andrade

Oku pushed Andrade with hurricanranas, knees, and a frog splash to the back, but Andrade’s DM elbow ended it. Andrade then issued an open challenge — Tommaso Ciampa answered, shook his hand, then blindsided him with a running knee and Willow’s Belle on the title belt.

Ed: “Ciampa didn’t just accept the challenge — he stamped it.”

🔹 Sisters of Sin vs Wrathlander vs Divine Dominion

Winner: Wrathlander

A chaotic three‑team fight with avalanche superplexes, double‑team sequences, and constant breakups. Statlander hit Saturday Night Fever on Hart to secure Wrathlander’s shot at the Women’s Tag Titles.

🔹 Young Bucks vs The Dogs — AEW World Tag Team Championship

Winners (and still): Young Bucks

The Dogs jumped the Bucks early and nearly stole it with Full Clip, but the Bucks rallied, hit BTE Trigger, and pinned Finlay.

After the bell, Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight attacked the Bucks, with Don Callis joining in and leaving the champions laid out as Fletcher and Knight held the belts.

Gordon: “That’s not foreshadowing — that’s a warning shot.”

⭐ AEW News & Rumors

  • Clockwork Carnage hype continues — AEW pushing it as a hybrid of multi‑man chaos and endurance match.
  • Ricochet vs Ace Austin set for Dynamite to determine another entrant.
  • Ciampa vs Andrade expected to be confirmed for WrestleDream.
  • Death Riders vs Callis Family tensions rising — Moxley’s promo on Collision made clear they’re fighting angry.

⭐ Dusty Rhodes — July 2, 1994

“The view never changes” — WCW Promo

Ed: “Before we close, we go back to one of the great talkers of all time.”

On July 2, 1994, Dusty Rhodes delivered a promo in WCW that became legendary for one line:

“The view never changes.”

Dusty used the phrase to describe wrestlers who stay behind others, never stepping up, never taking risks, never pushing past the shadows of bigger stars. His message was simple: if you stay in the back of the line, the view never changes — you’ll always be staring at someone else’s success.

PROMO

[Dustin Rhodes has just defeated Bunkhouse Buck thanks to interference by Dusty Rhodes. Several wrestlers swarm the ring, including members of Colonel Robert Parker’s Stud Stable. After everyone is separated, Dusty calls Dustin back into the ring and addresses him.]

Dusty Rhodes: “Come here, Dustin. I want everybody to bear with me just for a minute… I want to talk to my son in front of the whole world. When you were born, when you were a baby, when you were born, I went off to seek my fame and fortune. I neglected you! Then later on, when I became Worlds Heavyweight Champion, I neglected you. Then lately I became this corporate cowboy, if you will… in public with a suit and tie on. And I neglected you! And when it came down to choose a partner, I was off in Hollywood… and I neglected you.

Let me tell you something. Bunkhouse Buck, let me tell you, Colonel Parker, they all nothing but chicken feeds, that’s all they are, brother. Let me tell you something else… Terry Funk is nothing but a lowlife watermelon-thief egg-sucking dog! And let me tell you something about Arn Anderson. Arn Anderson, my son offered up his innocence, and you paid him back in SCORN! The HELL with you, Arn Anderson! Arn Anderson has never been nothing but a walk-behinder. And when you walk behind, and you’re not a leader, then the view never changes, baby! The view never changes, baby! The view never changes!

You have the ability to be the Worlds Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. There is not a greater athlete at your age in this sport. But I… I want to ask you a favour. I want to ask you a favour in front of… in front of God and the whole world. I know that the Clash of Champions on August the 24th, you put your name on the dotted line. I don’t want you to look for another partner! I don’t want you to go and FIND another man! I don’t want you to go out and get on your knees and beg another scum-sucking PIG to be your partner! I’m asking you if you can carry this old out-of-shape, old bent-out, old spindly-legged man… I want to be your partner!” [Loud cheering. Dustin now has his face in his hand, lost in thought. Dusty raises his hand to calm the crowd so he can continue.]

I don’t need no handshake. Because up there, [pointing to the crowd] right now tonight, there’s- there’s people with their brothers, their sisters and their wives. They are blood! The Kennedys were blood! The Earps were blood! The Rhodes are blood! I don’t need a handshake! What I need now from you, is just a hug and a kiss, to seal the deal, baby!” [Father and son hug as the crowd cheers once more.]

Gordon: “It was Dusty telling the world that complacency is death in this business.”

⭐ Closing from the sports desk

Ed: “So from Paris, AEW kept the engine roaring — title defenses, qualifiers, and a Collision card that felt like a global showcase.”

Gordon: “And in the background, you’ve got Nattie wanting more Bloodsport, AJ Styles reflecting on leadership, and Dusty’s old words reminding everyone that standing still is the surest way to fall behind.”

Ed: “We’ll be right here at the sports desk when the next bell rings. Stay sharp, stay loud, and keep your eyes on WrestleDream.”
