Fans, gather in close at the sports desk — Ed here with Gordon beside me — because we’ve got a double‑barreled week from Mexico City to Tampa. CMLL delivered a marathon stretch of shows, and the National Wrestling Alliance rolled out a Powerrr episode that was equal parts chaos, controversy, and championship stakes.

Before we hit the rings, let’s start with the headlines shaking the wrestling world.

⭐ HEADLINES

Jim Ross undergoes another brain surgery

Ed: “The voice of generations continues his fight.” JR underwent another brain procedure this week. Conrad Thompson shared that the surgery was necessary but successful, though JR’s recovery remains long and difficult. Gordon: “He’s a pillar of the sport. Every update reminds us how much he’s given.”

Why MJF is working with New Japan

MJF explained that his NJPW involvement is about testing himself against the world’s best and expanding his legacy beyond AEW. He framed it as a strategic move — not a departure, but a sharpening stone. Ed: “That’s a man thinking about the long game.”

Eric Bischoff says recent AEW deaths are ‘concerning’

Bischoff commented that the cluster of recent AEW‑associated deaths — including the PAC tribute show — raises questions about wrestler wellness and industry culture. Gordon: “It’s not finger‑pointing. It’s a call to look inward.”
