  • WOW’s newest media venture, the Official WOW Podcast hosted by wrestling historian Nigel Zane, is going on its eleventh week of YouTube livestreams. WOW owner and executive producer, David McLane, joined the podcast on May 15th with overflowing energy. McLane started the podcast teasing a WOW Season 5 live show stating, “We’re working on the brand new WOW diagram for the new season and where the new live events are going to be coming to all the fans this coming year. It’s going to be very exciting news as we make the announcement at the end of the summer.” The conversation continued as McLane announced a surprise WOW World Championship Title Match announcement – granting WOW Superhero Genesis a long awaited match against WOW’s current World Champion, Penelope Pink. McLane spent some time praising former WOW Superheroes like Terri Gold, Jungle Grrl, Lana Star, and “The Real Deal” Selina Majors, before pushing on to speak out about the current women’s sports landscape.” https://www.youtube.com/live/krm0AxcLC7k?si=MMO5yvxH1NVpGz9X
  • “Two time WOW World Champion and former WOW World Tag Team Champion, Penelope Pink, joined the Official WOW podcast last week ahead of her supercharged WOW World Championship Title defense against Genesis. As the self proclaimed “Best Damn Thing WOW’s Ever Seen,” Pink is very confident she will retain her title against Australian powerhouse, Genesis. Nigel Zane pressed Pink about Miami’s Sweet Heat recently losing their WOW World Tag Team Titles, but Pink denied the results of the match, claiming that Lauire and Lindsey Carlson were cheated out of their titles, they didn’t actually lose. Pink on Laurie and Lindsey Carson losing their titles: “[Miami’s Sweet Heat] didn’t lose, they were cheated. They were not the ones who got pinned to lose those belts… it doesn’t sit right with [Miami’s Sweet Heat.]” Zane also asked Pink what free agent in the wrestling world Pink would love to see join the WOW roster, and Pink immediately named Shotzi. Sound off in the comments if you agree! Pink on Shotzi: “I think it would be in WOW’s best interest to get in the ballpit with Shotzi Blackheart.” Pink went on to say that she’s been preparing for her title defense against Genesis in the gym and in the ring, as well as crafting a strategy to handle Genesis’ Ultimate Weapon: Drucilla Blade who will be lurking ringside during their match. Pink on Genesis: “I’ll gladly send you back to the other side of the world wrapped up in a nice little box, back to the kangeroos…” https://www.youtube.com/live/hCeWaIlYyFU?si=8xCJ2otn708jJB08
  • ‘WOW: Women of Wrestling’ Star Genesis On Performing For Little Girls in the Audience: ‘I’m a Very Tough Wrestler, That Warms My Cold Heart’ When Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss was a young teen, she started attending San Diego Comic-Con. She said in the convention’s first years, she would attend the event to buy comic books of her favorite characters and talk to other super fans. Now, Buss gets to bring her WOW: Women of Wrestling league to SDCC. Buss, the co-founder and co-owner of WOW, co-founder and co-owner of WOW David McLane, WOW superheroes coach Coach Campanelli and WOW superhero Genesis joined the Variety Studio presented by Google TV to talk female representation in sports. “More and more female athletes are putting in the time and the dedication and the focus because there’s a possibility of getting a scholarship to pursue their education,” Buss said. “I look at the success of the WNBA, women’s tennis, women’s golf, now women’s soccer, and there’s so many more athletes that don’t have a place to show the years of dedication and the athleticism.” She said she wanted to revitalize the Women of Wrestling brand to help provide female wrestlers with a platform to show off their discipline, dedication and sacrifices they made to become the athletes they are. “Women’s sports need people like me to invest back and create opportunities,” Buss said. Genesis, one of the female wrestlers a part of the WOW team, said she feels fortunate to have Buss spearheading the company and girls on the roster. She said she hopes the wrestlers can inspire the next generation of young girls who want to be athletes and are interested in sports and entertainment. “Those are our favorite fans,” Genesis said. “When we see little girls in the audience, those are the ones we really want to shout out because that was us before, just a fan trying to find a way. Just to see them in the crowd, even though I’m a very tough wrestler, that warms my cold heart.” https://dai.ly/x92yt2m
  • Muscle & Fitness Exclusive: Santana Garrett Shares Her Secrets to Empowerment “When fiery female WWE superstars like Trish Stratus, Lita, and Chyna began to make an impact in the new millennium, there was a gradual growth in the number of women that that would dare to sign themselves up to a mostly male club. “I was the only girl at my wrestling school,” recalls Garrett. “I was going to school out in St. Louis, Missouri, and I decided to start training out there. In the beginning, they weren’t very accepting of me. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a female, or if it’s because my dad was a wrestler and they wanted to make me earn it… but they certainly did. To prove her passion, Garrett threw herself into training, flipping old tractor tires and bumping herself around the mat like a rag doll. Still, as she progressed, the young upstart found mentors in the likes of Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, and Scott “Razor Ramon” Hall, two of the biggest names of the Monday Night Wars era. Training at the Team Vision Dojo in Florida, Garrett learned from the best. “I got to do matches with them over the years, whether they were managing me or in a tag intergender tag match, and they made me the first lady of the WolfPac,” beams Garrett. “So, you take bits and pieces from each person that you come across.” Garrett’s ability to absorb the wisdom given to her was put to good use, as she became the NWA World Women’s Champion in 2015. Her run with that title included a successful defence in Japan, marking the first time in 36 years that the belt had been defended there.  TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Wrestling fans will recall Garrett’s run under the name Brittany, while WWE fans will remember her time toiling away in NXT. She also entered the 2021 Royal Rumble at number twelve. Since 2013, however, WOW – Women of Wrestling — has been an enduring part of Garett’s bone-crushing career, where she has held the WOW Tag Team Championship and even reached the top of the mountain with the WOW World Championship in 2016.”

Ed: “WOW continues to prove that the spotlight isn’t just shared — it’s owned by these superheroes every single week!”

Gordon: “A most engaging broadcast, I’m sure — once the results are allowed to settle in, the broader implications for the championship hierarchy will become clear.”
